Clean, friendly standard hotel close to downtown
Not much of a view and a little noise but comfortsble and clean and inexpensive. Short drive to downtown, restaurants, beach and sights. Friendly receprtion staff.

A very comfortable place to stay
These are very nice accommodations. I'd stay here on every trip to Monterey. Friendly staff, clean rooms, good tv. Altogether very enjoyable.

Nice little place

La Quinta Monterey
Hotel was OK - not good. No customer service, paid for a view room but there was a horrible view of the street, highway, parking lot and a puddle. Staff was absent and breakfast was bearly edible. Very disappointed considering how much it cost ($159/night). If you pay more than $80/night then you paid too much. Room was comfortable and quiet and location to Monterey activities was excellent.

Monterey Aquarium is one of the best in the country. Love the otters, jelly fish and sea horse exhibits.

Summer vacation visit
La Quinta Hotel in Monterey, CA location was right off the highway and easy to get to. There is a very nice state beach across the road; a great place for a walk or to watch the sunset. The facility was clean and quiet. The only problem we had was the room smelled very musty. The carpet in the bedroom was old and stained. The bathroom was totally new, very clean. The continental breakfast was great, too. If the carpet didn't smell so bad our stay would have been more pleasant.

The Inn is a short drive to downtown Monterey, so do not plan on walking to any town destination. There is a bike trail nearby if you do have your bikes. This is an expensive area to visit, so the price for this inn is okay.

Close to beach
I went to ride my bike on trail in Monterey and the bike trail begins at this hotel so it was extremely convenient. The room was comfortable but I noticed a musty smell in the room I stayed in which took getting used to. There was a continental breakfast which was good but no trays so that I could take the food back to room.
