Renovated and all nonsmoking, the Holiday Inn Express Monterey-Cannery Row offers clean, quiet accommodations on the Monterey/Carmel Peninsula. Just a block from the ocean, the hotel presents a free breakfast bar in the sunny breakfast room to start each morning. A hosted wine and cheese reception welcomes guests back from around town each evening. Great Price Great Location
We enjoyed our stay. Our room was recently redone and it was extremely clean. The service and employees at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Although we knew the hotel had no pool and our daughters wished they had, everything else was great. It was a very easy walk to the Monterey Bay Aquarium which was one reason we chose the hotel. We would stay there again without question.

Easy Location
Location is great and easy to walk to everything. Week end was great. facilities are clean and quiet. parking is a challenge as the facility appears to be going thru some updating.

Great location
Location was great, room was clean and modern. The only bad thing was the busy street below, pretty noisy. Would stay there again

unbeatable location for the price
Vacation was perfect. Very convienent location with 2 small children, walking distance from pier and cannery row.

Monterey is always great
A little hard to find the entrance, but we just had to go around the block. Check-in was easy. If you are on the upper floors, you can take the elevator, but then you have to go down alot of stairs to get to your room. The room was lovely and large. About a 5 minute walk to Cannery Row. Great shops and restaurants. Ate at The Chart House, which is always excellent. About a 15 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf, but it's not as good as it used to be. They had a wine and cheese happy hour, which was very nice. Great breakfast.

Holiday Inn Express Monterey
Entrance to hotel has small sign & limited lighting at night making it hard to find. If you have poor mobility the steps to the rooms at ground level could be a problem. Staff friendly, knowledgable about the area.

Wonderful Location
We went to Monterey just to get away for a couple of days and enjoy the area. This hotel was located right in the middle of everything, yet it was quiet. A complimentary breakfast was served every morning starting at 6:00, with a nice selection of cold cereal, eggs, omelets, breads, muffins. At 5:30 in the evening complimentary wine and cheese were served, which was a nice touch after a full day of sight-seeing. Our room was large, and it had a refrigerator. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance-we parked our car when we got there and didn't move it again until we went home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to stay there again.
