Impressed

I was impressed with the Westin Bonaventure starting with the door man. He was very friendly! Upon walking through the doors, I again found myself impressed. The lobby was very nice and I liked seeing all of the shops and various restraunts. The man that checked us in was VERY warm and pleasant. We ate at two of the restaraunts and they were both very good with good service. We also went to the lounge which was a nice perk to have in our hotel. The room was small but nice. The beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

Very Nice

The Westin staff are the best part of this hotel. They were all extremely helpful and friendly. The room service food is expensive but the best I have ever had. The room was a bit awkward of a shape and small but comfortable.

A Classy Business Hotel

The hotel was very classy and nice. We stayed for leisure and had a great time. The rooms are small but it was just fine for the 2 of us. The hotel was located in a decent area and we used the local buses. Also,we were able to walk to many of the places to see from the hotel.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Macy's plaza is a few blocks from the hotel and a few blocks more will take you to shopping areas. My advice would be to purchase an all day bus/train pass for $5.00 per person and you will be able to see all the sites in L.A.(the Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood Walk of Fame, etc.).

great location

The Westin is located right downtown and only a couple blocks from the Metro station that will take you anywhere from Holleywood to Pasadena or Long Beach for only $5/day, unlmited access, very safe. Hotel had nice restaurant choices--we ate at the revolving restaurant at the top--great drinks and appetizers. Also had lunch in lobby center--good shrimp quesadilla and Cobb salad, waitress not the fastest. Also ate at Brewery--nice outside patio, huge portion sizes. The hotel is about 30years old and needs a bit of renovating, but it is still quite spectacular and unique in its architecture. The first room we were in, the air conditioner wan't working quite right and the toilet was a bit loose from the wall, so we asked to change rooms. They not only changed our rooms, but upgraded us also, and gave us a $40 lunch voucher. Wonderful customer service. Valet parking is about $45/day, just beware if renting a car. Also you can get parking vouchers (you only have to pay $5 instead of $45) if you eat at one of their restaurants. The view was great from our room--looked at downtown and the Hollywood sign. Beds very comfortable. Workout area open 24h and nice. Pool outside on 4th floor, not huge but looked decent. never went in because weather did not allow.

Great hotel

The Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles is a great hotel. The rooms have panoramic views and there is a great view of the city from just about any angle. The staff was excellent and very courteous. I was a short ten blocks from the Staples Center where I went to a Lakers game and about fifteen minutes (with traffic) to the beach in Santa Monica. The neighborhood was bustling with activity and I felt very safe walking around by myself. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice

I was very pleased with the Westin BOnaventure. It is a HUGE place with a beautiful ground floor, including a large circular bar and lounge surrounded by fountains. Upper floors include a running track and a few pieces of fitness equipment. I noticed a much more extensive gym available for a fee. The room itself was very comfortable - one of the best hotel beds available. The only addition that would have been nice is a microwave in the room. The location is downtown and you can get many places by cab, but don't expect anything that interesting to visit right near the hotel. Personally, I was visiting USC medical center and it was about a $13 cab ride away. I would stay there again.

The Bonaventure Brewing Company is located on the 4th floor of the hotel and has a nice menu and some decent beer. I noticed many locals were hanging out there too.
