Ok in the midst of a facelift
Great location with many activity options within the hotel (shops, eateries, spa, salon, etc.). The potential beauty of the hotel was currently hidden as a result of active construction. Room was comfortable ableit standard but good value for pricing.

Construction Sucks
Everything could have been spectacular and I would have rated 5 stars, but man I wish they would let you know if the Hotel is under renovation!! There nothing like walking into a tarped lobby and the sound of a jackhammer echoing off the walls...otherwise the room was great, the views incredible, The restaurant stupendous...everything was great BUT the dust and noise from the renovation.

A bland hotel
The hotel is old and tired. The room was perfectly acceptable, but most everything else has the look and feel of something that might have been great once, but those days have passed.

The Border Grill restaurant is right across the street and is the best downtown restaurant. Outstanding food...try the Mahi Mahi! Latin.

4 Star Hotel? More of a 3 Star.
The hotel is a little dated and they seem to doing a lot of renovations, which is better for them in the future. Room was a little small and I was disappointed that although I booked this trip weeks in advance, they did not reserve a king bed for me. Instead I got 2 doubles. Other than that, it is a clean room, but I wouldn't consider it a 4 star hotel.

Excellent hotel, very friendly staff, we arrived very early but they found an excellent room for us, with perfect view on all LA. Very convenient location for downtown. Next time we will stay only in this hotel!

I scarcely left this hotel duringr a three day conference. It was under renovation, but it was still comfortable and had full service. The staff was helpful. There was a useful but somewhat downscale series of mall-like shops and fast-food joints. The ones we tried were reasonably good and not too expensive. The room was well appointed and comfortable. It was not large, but it was certainly adequate, quiet, and well appointed. The bed was appealing but the shower was capable only of very hard streams of water that were anything but relaxing. The futuristic lobby and elevators were enjoyable.
