Great Location, Comfortable Stay

I was here for a conference so I wanted to stay close. The location was perfect. It was also convenient to have valet parking available albeit a little pricey. This hotel also doubles as club/bar that's open to everyone, not just hotel guests so it gets pretty crowded on weekends. The rooms itself is pretty quirky with the see-through showers. I wouldn't recommend sharing rooms if you're traveling with friends. However, the tempurpedic beds were really comfortable. All in all, I did enjoy my stay.

Many of the breakfast places in the area don't open til 10am at the very least. The Standard's restaurant in the lobby is open 24/7 and the food was great.

Great stay!

Fun hotel in a great location in downtown. It's within walking distance to a lot of things and the metro station is only 2 blocks away. There are tons of different things to do within the hotel if you have the time and energy. The only thing I would warn people of is the shower in our room was see through. So, from anywhere in the room everything in the bathroom is visible. I'm not sure if it's like that in all of the rooms but could get weird if traveling with friends!

What the W tries to be.

This is it. The epitome of trendy. Rooftop pool party, celebrities, 460 sq ft room, modern styling, overstocked mini bar, comfortable bed - I could go on. Was it really worth the price? If it's not out of reach of your checkbook and you're in your early twenties... Yes it was worth it. It really feels like this is what The W models itself after. The W feels far less accessible though.

Cool and Chic.

Received an upgrade to their larger room and it was fantastic. Love the modern feel and huge space. Very comfortable. Great bars and restaurants right across the street, park once in the lot overnight for $10 and you're good to go. Staff were super friendly and getting access to the rooftop club at night with no cover made everything smooth.

Unusual but a lot of fun

I'm probably a bit older than the typical Standard resident, it is clearly targeted at the young and fun loving. It's still a great location in Downtown LA and the bars and restaurants are good quality and well run. Very comfortable beds but the room was a bit spartan for my taste. Valet parking was a bit pricey.

Comfort at its best!

This hotel was absolutely beautiful, and the staff was amazing. The ping pong room and rooftop bar/pool was so relaxing and the view was amazing. The only thing wrong was the location. Coming from Chicago, which has an amazing very popular downtown location, I thought downtown LA would be the same, but it was average. (this was a lack of research on my part) but overall this hotel was amazing.

Pretty good

The rooms are a little dated and damaged. The roof top area is really nice. Great location and service. I had a good time. If I returning to only downtown and no other place in LA then I would stay there again..
