BRAND NEW! The Line is a new hotel collaboration by The Sydell Group, Roy Choi, Sean Knibb, and The Houston Brothers that celebrates the cultural fabric of urban Los Angeles. Designed in 1964 by architects Daniel Mann Johnson + Mendenhall, the iconic building sits alongside Koreatown's famous pre-1940 brick colonial revival buildings in a neighborhood that's abuzz 24 hours a day thanks to Southern California's highest concentration of restaurants, bars, and round-the-clock businesses. Handily located in the Los Angeles basin between Beverly Hills (6 miles), Downtown (3 miles) and Hollywood (5 miles), it's perfectly positioned for exploring all the City's many attractions with the neighborhood's charms right at your doorstep. The Line's dining concepts, led by LA's own Chef Roy Choi, will celebrate Koreatown's distinctive character - and greater LA itself. Koreatown natives the Houston Brothers - the entrepreneurs behind La Descarga and Harvard and Stone - are in-house hosting an intimate cocktail bar and lounge. There's also an art boutique concept store packed with carefully curated retail and a well-stocked magazine newsstand. Its 383 guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over Wilshire Boulevard on one side and the Hollywood Hills on the other. Los-Angeles-based Sean Knibb, best known for his award-winning landscaping design and The A-Frame Restaurant, has designed the hotel's interiors. Each room is appointed with hand-selected, custom-designed furnishings from Knibb's studio and various objects' d'art. Please note: Pool and restaurants currently closed for renovation.

Staycation LA

My experience at The Line hotel was mixed. I requested an early check in and followed up the day of my arrival. when I called 10 min. prior to arrival I was told the room was almost ready but needed one last inspection which would take place prior to 3pm. But I thought my room was almost ready? My girlfriends and I headed up to the pool in the interim which was solid. Great pool, great service, great amenities and managed extremely well. They even gave us a round of complimentary mimosas. Two hours later I walk downstairs to check and see if the room was ready. Apparently they still needed to do one final inspection?! Although this time it only took 10 min. Finally able to check in and all was great until an hour later when the room keys completely stopped working. Had to go through 2 ordeals to try and get working ones but finally fixed. The rest of the day was smooth sailing. Left for a bit while my friends dined at the restaurant Pot which is a must try. When I got back to the hotel there was a massive korean party spilling out onto the side walk from inside the hotel. The music was blaring crazy loud and even for a party girl like me it was just a bit much and kind of chaotic. It was definitely a Saturday night but the party seemed a bit out of control. Headed up to bed hungry but there didn't seem to be any place in the hotel to get any food around midnight. Beds were cozy and I slept like an angel which was quite a delight. Woke up to some room service with some great breakfast options and super appreciate the hotel permitting a late check out. definitely needed it that day! They did however check me out and give me someone else's receipt and now I'm thinking I overpaid?

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

hotel valet parks your car for $35 a night but if you have a rental it will keep it save from vandalism and should you dine at k town leave your car at hotel its a short walk away and saves you from more parking fees.

One of the best hotels

Everything was perfect!! The location, staff and view of the Hollywood hills was beautiful! The pastries at the cafe were delicious. The staff was helpful, inviting and always smiling. This hotel is right on the public transportation line. If you choose to rent a car they do offer overnight parking. It was only a few minute drive to all the hot spots in LA. I would suggest this hotel to everyone. Beautiful pool for relaxing by on hot days...perfect touch.

Nice hotel

Staff is quick and very nice. Hotel room was small but nice. Loved the simple decor. Our reservations was wrong, they had us reserved for 1 king bed but we were booked for 2 doubles. The staff corrected the error even though eye said all rooms were booked. Downside of the trip was our toilet for clogged twice which sucked because there were 4 of us sharing the room. Overall, great hotel and would come back again.

Good home base

This hotel is very modern which is aesthetically beautiful but challenging for travelers. There just wasn't space to put our suitcases. However, it was 15 min to everywhere we wanted to go! We visited college campus' and took side trips to Hollywood and Santa Monica.
