BRAND NEW! The Line is a new hotel collaboration by The Sydell Group, Roy Choi, Sean Knibb, and The Houston Brothers that celebrates the cultural fabric of urban Los Angeles. Designed in 1964 by architects Daniel Mann Johnson + Mendenhall, the iconic building sits alongside Koreatown's famous pre-1940 brick colonial revival buildings in a neighborhood that's abuzz 24 hours a day thanks to Southern California's highest concentration of restaurants, bars, and round-the-clock businesses. Handily located in the Los Angeles basin between Beverly Hills (6 miles), Downtown (3 miles) and Hollywood (5 miles), it's perfectly positioned for exploring all the City's many attractions with the neighborhood's charms right at your doorstep. The Line's dining concepts, led by LA's own Chef Roy Choi, will celebrate Koreatown's distinctive character - and greater LA itself. Koreatown natives the Houston Brothers - the entrepreneurs behind La Descarga and Harvard and Stone - are in-house hosting an intimate cocktail bar and lounge. There's also an art boutique concept store packed with carefully curated retail and a well-stocked magazine newsstand. Its 383 guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over Wilshire Boulevard on one side and the Hollywood Hills on the other. Los-Angeles-based Sean Knibb, best known for his award-winning landscaping design and The A-Frame Restaurant, has designed the hotel's interiors. Each room is appointed with hand-selected, custom-designed furnishings from Knibb's studio and various objects' d'art. Please note: Pool and restaurants currently closed for renovation.

Not for family stay

We wanted a hotel near LA downtown, and saw good reviews about the Line Hotel. The lobby was right next to a bar/lounge with very loud music--It was a Wednesday night. I could hardly hear what receptionists said. I was told it's going to be worse at weekends. The hotel was recently renovated and the room was quite fancy, but we didn't feel it's comfy interior for a family. (My wife didn't like it at all) The water stopper in the bathroom sink was out-of-order. They sent a repairman and fixed it quickly, though. But it looks like they didn't do the plumbing work during the renovation -- water was going out very slowly from the sink and tub. It had valet-only parking. But nobody said there was a charge for the parking until we checked out. When checking out, we suddenly were told that there was $35 charge for the parking. Overall, it was an okay stay, but I don't think it was up to the expectation. Especially don't think it's a good hotel for family. (We had a kid with us)

Close proximity to everything

First time staying here, loved how close it was driving to everything, weho was a couple minutes and downtown! Plenty of food options if you love Korean food. Only issues was the hotel has poor internet connection and it can be loud at 2 am since they have a dj in the downstairs in the lobby, I don't get bothered by the noise so that wasn't an issue for me.

Great hotel in the heart of Korea Town

This hotel was a last minute escape from a hotel with bed bugs. The hotel was very clean, located in a location surrounded by restaurants, and not to far a drive from all the local attractions. The only thing I can mention is that there was a backup of several guest waiting to get their rooms. We probably spent about an hour waiting for our room to be ready, but was not too painful with all the local restaurants around. We really enjoyed the stay especially for the price we found on the internet.

absolute fun place to stay in downtown

The hotel design is so different and refreshing, like nowhere else. The lobby bar is open until 2am from Thu-Sat, loud music and huge crowd of people. The staff are all really helpful and friendly. When I checked in, the first room they gave me already had guests in there, so they gave me another room and 50 dollar credit to spend in the hotel. Great great location, right in the heart of Korea Town and just steps away from downtown, all kinds of restaurants and bars around. Overall this is a great place to stay if you wanna have fun and experience something different in LA.

Amazing Staff & Accomodations

I cannot day another good things about this hotel! The staff here is simply amazing. Every member that you see asks how everything going. The room while they're small, they are set up a beautifully with amazing decor and artwork. The feel is very contemporary and hip. In the evenings the lobby is filled with locals dancing the night away to the latest hits. While the music is loud it was not annoying at all to me; however for someone who wants silence this would not be a great choice. simply a great hotel
