The Line is a new hotel collaboration by The Sydell Group, Roy Choi, Sean Knibb, and The Houston Brothers that celebrates the cultural fabric of urban Los Angeles. Designed in 1964 by architects Daniel Mann Johnson + Mendenhall, the iconic building sits alongside Koreatown's famous pre-1940 brick colonial revival buildings in a neighborhood that's abuzz 24 hours a day thanks to Southern California's highest concentration of restaurants, bars, and round-the-clock businesses. Handily located in the Los Angeles basin between Beverly Hills (6 miles), Downtown (3 miles) and Hollywood (5 miles), it's perfectly positioned for exploring all the City's many attractions with the neighborhood's charms right at your doorstep. The Line's dining concepts, led by LA's own Chef Roy Choi, will celebrate Koreatown's distinctive character - and greater LA itself. Koreatown natives the Houston Brothers - the entrepreneurs behind La Descarga and Harvard and Stone - are in-house hosting an intimate cocktail bar and lounge. There's also an art boutique concept store packed with carefully curated retail and a well-stocked magazine newsstand. Its 389 guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over Wilshire Boulevard on one side and the Hollywood Hills on the other. Los-Angeles-based Sean Knibb, best known for his award-winning landscaping design and The A-Frame Restaurant, has designed the hotel's interiors. Each room is appointed with hand-selected, custom-designed furnishings from Knibb's studio and various objects' d'art.
