BRAND NEW! The Line is a new hotel collaboration by The Sydell Group, Roy Choi, Sean Knibb, and The Houston Brothers that celebrates the cultural fabric of urban Los Angeles. Designed in 1964 by architects Daniel Mann Johnson + Mendenhall, the iconic building sits alongside Koreatown's famous pre-1940 brick colonial revival buildings in a neighborhood that's abuzz 24 hours a day thanks to Southern California's highest concentration of restaurants, bars, and round-the-clock businesses. Handily located in the Los Angeles basin between Beverly Hills (6 miles), Downtown (3 miles) and Hollywood (5 miles), it's perfectly positioned for exploring all the City's many attractions with the neighborhood's charms right at your doorstep. The Line's dining concepts, led by LA's own Chef Roy Choi, will celebrate Koreatown's distinctive character - and greater LA itself. Koreatown natives the Houston Brothers - the entrepreneurs behind La Descarga and Harvard and Stone - are in-house hosting an intimate cocktail bar and lounge. There's also an art boutique concept store packed with carefully curated retail and a well-stocked magazine newsstand. Its 383 guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over Wilshire Boulevard on one side and the Hollywood Hills on the other. Los-Angeles-based Sean Knibb, best known for his award-winning landscaping design and The A-Frame Restaurant, has designed the hotel's interiors. Each room is appointed with hand-selected, custom-designed furnishings from Knibb's studio and various objects' d'art. Please note: Pool and restaurants currently closed for renovation.

Neat hispster Hotel

Love this hotel, I need to say that the Staff of the hotel are AWESOME , specially the girls at front desk!! very helpful and willing to help. The manager helped me with my upgrade and she was very profesional and helpful. beds are veeeery comfortable. Everything at the hotel is perfect if you are into hipster avantgarde type. the only thing that I disagree was the price of the overnight parking.

Hotel of great value

The room was small as expected given it's in downtown LA. But it was safe to walk around at night to have some restaurant and bar hopping. The swimming pool and hotel room was very clean. The decorations were as nice as you can find in boutique hotels. Great stay overall!

The Line Hotel Review

The hotel is clean, staffs are nice. The room and the bathroom are too small. I can't rate this hotel as a 4 stars hotel, more like 3 stars.

Zero Customer Service

At first arrival the facade was pretty impressive for a Korea town hotel, but that's where things end. It seems they put most their money into flipping the lobby into a modern hipster like hotel, but the rooms were very small and did not look spacious like in the photos online. In fact there is barely any room to move around! They also have a bad case of Termites! They were infested, especially anywhere there was wood: magazines, tissue boxes etc. We were so grossed out we had to spray what we could with alcohol but needless to say that did not help make me less paranoid during bedtime. Customer service was close to none. They charge almost $40/night for mediocre valet service, which can add up. Worse, my phone charger was mysteriously stolen. They try to get you to upgrade to a room with a "better" view for an extra $20, but the reality is when we did switch rooms the view was actually worse. Be warned this hotel is all about making money by tacking on anything they can, whether its using the small business center which is more like a closet with 2 computers. You get charged $1/minute so definitely not friendly for business people. The wifi sucks. When you call for maid service, sometimes they will show up hours later, sometimes no one shows up and you have to call multiple times to get any request fulfilled. When you complain they act like nothing happened and brush things off.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Save money by buying essentials e.g. water/food, have valet send them up to your room for FREE!

I booked a Hollywood Hills View room but when we arrived we wee told that there wasn't one available and blamed "booking through a third party" as being the culprit. They didn't have a room ready for us and we waited 45 minutes.

Too modern hotel for average people

If you don't like concrete walls you should not even think about booking this Valet parking for $35 is also not something that I was looking for initially

Can't beat the location

If you want to do anything in Ktown, this is the hotel for you. There nothing like this in the vicinity. The downstairs completely becomes a club/lounge in the weekends - complete with big bouncers and velvet ropes. I felt a little weird walking in with my flip flops by just showing my room card. The bottom couple of floors would be loud at the night in the weekends because of this. The pool is nice and with young people. Not a lot of kids running around. The rooms are small and cramped. It does the job when you crash after a long night of drinking but not much else. Best part is the location. If you are here for the Ktown experience, you can't do any better.

A perfect one night stay

I decided to stay at The Line on a whim so I was apprehensive at first, but when I pulled into the valet all my worries vanished. It was in a fairly trendy part of town and was bustling. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms were a bit small, but the bed was plush. My favorite thing about this hotel was the fact that they gave guests the option to order room service the night before. All I had to do was fill out the sheet with my order and hang it over the door handle with the time I wanted it delivered. Overall I would definitely stay at The Line again.

The Line

The Line hotel was very conveniently located for what i needed. Uber and Lyft drivers were plentiful, the bar was nice, and Metro was right across the street. Getting my car which had been was very quick as the valet brought it up within two minutes. Staff were all courteous. I have a feeling the prices will shoot up very soon, but it was well worth the money.
