Hotel is more of a 3 to 3.5 than a 4. Requested a west facing room, away from the 405 freeway. Was not ready upon arrival at 3:30 pm. Waited till after 4:00. Extremely loud traffic noise at all hours, although it was quiet in the room. Location is good if you don't mind the noise. Room amenities were basic for a hotel to be considered 4 stars. Not bad overall, but not great either. I would basically say it's the norm for over priced LA hotels.

Great Staff & Value

The staff was extremely nice but didn't overdo it to the point of seeming fake. The room was excellent, quiet and very comfortable. For the money, this hotel is far better than the overpriced junk you find nearer to the beach in Santa Monica. If you are looking to spend $175-$250 night in this area, try the Angeleno.

Mostly positive, with a few qualifiers

Staff were consistently helpful and seemed genuinely friendly. Location is quite central to many things in LA (including the Getty) and is literally adjacent to Highway 405, so easy to find. This location also means that there is really nowhere to walk, except beside very busy roads with few sidewalks. The hotel does provide a free shuttle within a three mile radius, which saved driving and having to pay for parking at the Getty. This shuttle and the valet parking worked well, but having a car would seem essential. While quite small, the room was clean, with a very comfortable bed, good linens, and well equipped with a coffee maker , safe and bar fridge. The bathroom was relatively spacious, nicely finished, clean, and well lit. They have done as well as possible with the pool, but it is in a small area essentially surrounded by high concrete walls and the hotel building, and the noise from the traffic is ever present. There are places to be in the sun and the shade but it would not be my idea of a place to relax for any period of time because of the unavoidable traffic noise. There is a dining room with a bar on the 17th floor. The view is great and the food we had was on the pricey side but excellent quality.

A sure bet in West LA

The business hotels in West LA can often get filled up and very expensive depending upon events. The Angelino is a sure bet if you are in West LA. It has amenities for both business and casual travelers. The rooms are comfortable. They make it hassle free with reliable free wifi and free valet parking. Everyone is very pleasant. The restaurant on the top floor is very good. As the hotel is right by the 405, it is very easy to get places without the terrible backups on the on ramps that you often get when you stay in Century City. The downside is that some of the rooms on the freeway side are a bit noisy and you need to turn on the AC so you don't hear the car noise. The hotel is reliable, pleasant and they make everything easy. A good value for West LA.

Mixed feelings

I have stayed at Hotel Angeleno several times and there are several definite advantages. It is right near the 405 and very close to Brentwood which offers a "cute town" experience to discover. The hotel itself has all the basic amenities plus free paring and internet. Hoever, it needs modernization and tweaking. My ac was so loud that I was unable to watch tv. I was told by the engineer that all the rooms were the same. However, my daughter's was fine and they quickly changed my room when I told them that.

A must stay in Los Angeles

This is the best hotel in LA for the price! I don't stay anywhere else except if my business is in the valley! The location is perfect for going all over LA! 10 min to BH, 5 minutes to UCLA, and 25 to beach if you take the scenic route via Sunset. Beds very comfy and rooms are clean. The rooms are not large due to configuration of "circular hotel", but I am rarely in room. Pool is stylish and not crowded. Room service is prompt as well as the valets! Staff is friendly and very accomadating!!

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Nothing close to walk to but 5 min drive to Brentwood Village is easy with great cute restaurants and fun shopping. Soto is my fav boutique, I stock up on clothes every time in LA, nothing in San Antonio compares!
