Rooms are small. You get what you pay for which makes this a good deal.

Must Read Reviews!
Saw Historic Hotel and saw a couple of pictures and thought that looks nice. Get there and it's one step up from a homeless shelter. Had street people living there for $700 a month! Finally just moved to a Radisson and learn my lesson

Very convenient :)
We only needed to stay overnight to go to Convention Center so staying at an overpriced hotel was not a must and i'm glad we stayed at Mayfair Hotel. Room was very tidy and clean, hot water on 15th floor is great. The hotel is very convenient to everything 7/11 next door and subway sandwich. If you're looking your save money and spend the rest on restaurants, universal studios or hollywood shopping this will be it.

Threadbare but good value, nice staff
Title says it all: I had a two room suite which was plenty of space for a very good price. Staff are friendly, breakfast is decent, location not Hollywood but just a 15min drive there.

Exactly What it should be
The hotel is nothing grand. However, in a major city, conveniently located downtown and 2-3 minutes from the Staples Center, it has haands down been my go to place. The rooms and linens are always as clean as the hotel can possibly be considering the actual decor of the room. The carpets in the hallways could use some work and it wouldnt hurt to add a fridge. Needless to say every time I stay in LA, if I'm looking for a bargain, this is the first hotel I look at.

Entertainment tip:
Short walk from hotel
The neighbor hood upon exiting the hotel and walking to the right is like 3 blocks from the downtown bar and club scene. The taxi is cheap. Be sure to let the taxi nkow if you have cash or not.

Nice Lobby but ...
Got into the room on the 8th floor and it was extremely warm and stuffy. I opened the windows and noticed the drapery discolored & very dusty. They probably hadn't been cleaned since 1932. The AC didn't work well at all, the bathroom was outdated, bath tub grout was mildewy & peeling. The water pressure wasn't all that either. I guess for the price & location and if you're on the go type then this will work for you. It did for me since I was only there to be close to the Staples Arena. This hotel has such potential and a little bit of paint goes a long way!

Fine by me
I was looking for value foremost as I wasn't going to be in the room much during this stay. Seriously, who comes to Los Angeles to stay in the room? Anyway, this hotel was nice, the room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. It was located close to the Metro. Oh! And it was a bargain. I didn't need anything else.
