Great Location
I only stayed one night, but the staff was very welcoming and service was good. The hotel is in a great location across from the old farmer's market and The Grove. Lots of options for restaurants and shopping. I grew up in LA and have fond memories of the farmer's market - didn't have time to go to The Grove, but remember it is as just another high-end mall.. The room was comfortable, liked the "farm" theme decor. I'd stay here again. A little spendy, though.

Location Location Location
Hipster on a budget hotel in a tropical setting strategically located across the street from THE GROVE. Fall in love with the kitschy ambiance, friendly laid back staff, and help yourself to freshly baked cookies daily. Bikes for rent, ping-pong, rubber duckies in the pool - What's not to love? Restaurant next door- TART -with lovely outdoor seating is the icing on the cake. Must try: California Scramble and Chicken and Waffles!

Outside looks different from inside
It is an average hotel. It seemed like it was a former motel that had been upgraded and cleaned up...not a bad job, but just doesn't have that feel of a comfy hotel....cookies were great and attached restaurant added alot of character...

Fun little place
We had a sweet mother daughter getaway for one night here at the Farmers Daughter. It was an adorable set up. Love the little touches...complimentary bbq chips and pink lemonade in the day and choc chips cookies and apple cider in the evening. Kind of a themed out motel. Nothing fancy, more funky and hip. My 17 yr. old loved it. We shopped and ate, all close by areas...the Grove, farmers market, 3rd st & Melrose Pros: This place is really cute! Tart is a tasty place for breakfast Cons: Noisy ( like other reviews, the traffic on the street, it is unavoidable I guess) Ps...we stayed Jan 2013. It didn't have that as an option

great location
The Farmer's Daughter is a very cute hotel in a great location, near shopping and dining. The price was comparable to other hotels in the area, but a bit more than I am used to paying for something of it's caliber. It seemed like everything was an extra charge. The staff was not as friendly as I would have liked.

Very nice simple hotel
Close proximity to airport, santa monica, beverly hills, walking distance to melrose and across the street from CBS Television City and Farmer's Market. Small hotel, simple, clean. Helpful staff. Good restaurant. The gym is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel and $10 for the day.

Location was perfect!
We have stayed at the Farmer's Daughter on many of our trips to Southern California. As always, the location was perfect for visiting CBS studios. They have updated the hotel over the years and it is very clean and pleasant to stay there, unlike some of the cheaper, sketchy places we have stayed nearby over the years. The staff is always very helpful. I wish the price was less, especially when adding their parking on top of the room rate, but it is still less than some of the fancier hotels in the vicinity. Also I wish that they had queen beds instead of doubles, since we generally have 4 people per room when we go to TV show tapings at CBS. They now have free lemonade & chocolate chip cookies in the afternoons, but unfortunately no breakfast available in the mornings & the bagel shop that used to be a block away is now a German Wurst shop which isn't open for.breakfast. I would definitely recommend the Farmer's Daughter to anyone wanting to go the The Grove shopping area, CBS Studios or the Farmer's Market. :)

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
The Price Is Right ticket distribution has changed, so now they don't overbook the audience as much. There was clearly no need to get there before 7 am for the first show the day we went, since they totally placed audience members where they wanted them to sit for the TV camera, not according to arrival time.

TOO HIP
It seems that this hotel is mostly for people in their 20's or 30's. Not the most comfortable place if your over 60.
