Custom Hotel, a Joie de Vivre Boutique Hotel

The mini bar, and the air conditioner was broken...and they could never fix it. The attitude when we checked in was too bad, we are understaffed and people are extending their stays.

It was quite simply put a nightmare. This hotel sold our room out from underneath us even though we had pre-paid. They laid everything on orbits, and in general were total jerks. No concept what so ever of custmer service.

I was sorely dissappointed with the huge parties, lines of people, small rooms, no fridge, no micro. could not adjust the AC. Drunken partiers all hours and vomit and noisy hallways. You would expect that in Vegas. Won't recommend it, also won't use Orbitz-can NOT get a refund. paid for 4 nights, stayed 2 and paid to go somewhere else. No second exit if you wanted to avoid the lines to get in or out. It was a gift for my daughter who had moved from the East Coast. We both were dissapointed-Chris S PDX

Not a great place to stay Friday-Sunday. Major parties all night, drunk people, etc. Not a good experience. There is no room service as well.

not especially professional. room attempted some designer touches but indoor outdoor carpet and worn furnishings oupled by inadequate air conditioning prompted me to flee -- even thogh it was prepaid. it depressed me.

This was my sister and friend 1st time to California, and we thought the hotel was not what expected on their website. The front staff was not friendly at all. Ontop of those things we had to paid 22.00 per night for (so call valet parking at their so call little hotel, which was so crazy ( didn't have a choice) nowhere else to park at the place. Will never return there again nor tell any friends about the hotel.

I was told when I checked in that they didn't have to honor my reservation with [...] and that they had a room for me with only one bed (I had requested 2 double beds) I had to take it because I needed to move my daughter out of her dorm). Very disappointing. I don't know if its the hotel's fault or [...].

The room was clean and neat. The bed just as well had been on the floor it was so low to the floor. The restaurant was something out of a worst possible situation book. We asked for a Pinot Noir or a Zinfendal and the waiter (???) brought us a chardonay and a rose'. We decided not to eat there and went across the street to a terrific Italian restaurant. I'll not be staying there again.

Typically I really enjoy this hotel and have stayed several times. Last night was not good! I was in LA on business and I didn't want to drive 50 miles back home so my freind and I thought it would be nice after going to the Saples Center for the Laker's pre-game to stay at the Custom's hotel and then drive home in the morning. The pool side Hopscotch bar is cool and really nice in the summer, its downstairs and next to the pool so we planned on having a couple glass of wine after the game and then relxing in our room for the night. WRONG! The Hopscotch bar was closed for a private party. Okay, I get it, they have to make money and that's fine. However, the bar in the hotel is plain and genaric. So I got a glass of wine to go back to my room. However, the private party that rented out the Hopscotch Bar was a class reuion "Class 2000" and all of them were staying on the 9th floor with my room next to the elevator. They never stopped all night, I was awake until 4:30am when they all finially stopped getting on and off the elevator and screeming at one another as they ran in and out of their rooms all night! I would have changed rooms but my friend staying with me started getting the flu and went right to bed feeling horrible so she did not want to have to pack everything up to move rooms. Luckily she fell asleep after taking flu medicine but I was awake all night. I told the front desk at check out and the hostess said I was not the only one to complain and she would tell her manager. I suggested in the future that they reserve a block of rooms for a large group staying at the hotel and make sure others do not have to be subjected to the groups activities. In other words- use some common sense....
