Clean & fun place to crash in a great neighborhood
I have always loved this hotel, from the time it was the Furama and we stayed here when visiting our daughter at the Loyola Marymount campus a few blocks away. Very easy walking distance to supermarket (Ralph's), tennis courts (with weekday morning drop-in play) bowling alley, public library branch, lots of restaurants, walking track across the street, and a 5-10 minute shuttle ride to LAX (free at the time of our stay). Our room had a GREAT view, and was clean & fine for our one-night stay. BUT, it was possibly the tiniest hotel room we'd ever seen (barely room to edge around the bed, which was in the middle of the room, and not the King we had booked. No desk, microwave, coffee maker, or mini-fridge. Shower took at least 5 minutes to draw any hot water. Parking is valet or street. Oddly appointed, with no lock on bathroom door, which has large frosted glass window. Apparently, there are a lot of amenities -- bar, pool, exercise room, etc. -- in the hotel itself, though we were not there long enough to visit them. Bottom line is, this is a base camp, not a destination. If you're not planning to spend time in your room, except in bed, and if you're alone or with someone you're comfortable with in very close quarters, you might enjoy this. If you check in expecting the really cool college single dorm room you always wished you had, you won't be disappointed.

Forget its name, but left out of the hotel, right at the light, and two blocks up & across the street, is a great Mexican breakfast place (on the way to the LMU campus)

Always an enjoyable experience
The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable. The only thing I would request is that there was a coffee maker provided in the room.

Trendy Try
Its a hotel near LAX. I did a package deal so i'm not sure how much went into the hotel. The room was a bit small and it covered the concrete walls with a curtains. Again its by LAX so don't expect an amazing view. The staff was good and they have a trendy over priced restaurant. WiFi was free but the parking is not. Bottom line: i would probably go somewhere else. If you are in a pinch and there no other options this place gets the job done.

Unique style!
We love it at first sight! Really contemporary. We felt really comfortable. A unique style. We just found there was no self-parking close to the hotel.

Go for the massage chairs!
I've stayed at this hotel several times - even before the recent renovation/refresh that was completed by the Joie de Vivre hotel brand. Still a very cool place to stay, great location for business travelers as it is literally only 5 minutes away from the airport. Do yourself a favor and take a little walk around the various floors to visit all the unique lounges and hidden spots - my favorite was the relaxation room on the 12th floor with the world's best massage chair.

Instead of parking with the hotel valet at $20 a day, there is usually some open street parking near the bowling alley/Otis college just down the street - 3 minute walk to the hotel from there.

Okay, not great
The room was very dark, though it tried to be chic. There was no ice machine on the floor, and valet parking was $20/night. Overall, it was okay, but not great.

Great place and stay
As a fan of boutique hotels, I would definitely stay here again. I really liked their modernist clean lines and over all choice in design. The staff was perfect, the room was great for the price, parking is valet only but we chose street parking down the way. Close walking proximites to eateries, grocery and other things close by. Its very close to the airport but the strong paned windows kept the sound out--yay! They also have a restaurant on premises and lounge. I definitely would stay again.
