Low lighting but quite the experience
The room I was in had very low lighting and was in a very dark hall. The hotel appears renovated, but they did an absolutely excellent job with attention to detail. Parking was a little difficult at times, but the valet was worth the $15 a day, especially when it's cold.

Very satisfactory
I needed a place to stay for the night and this offered a great location. Overall its a "trendy" place with comfortable rooms. It was clean and the staff was helpfull. I would come back any time. The only bummer is that my internet service didnt work for a while but once I spent time on hold, the tech made it work.

Uniquey-boutiquey
This was a stay-cation because of a terrible plumbing issue at home. It somehow made what should have been a really crumby, stressful weekend into an impromptu silly getaway. It wasn't too expensive (key for the disaster-related stay-cation), they were friendly, and they take pets. The concierge was very nice to my doggie. Also a bonus - very close/convenient park for the dog walking, coffee shop, fast food, grocery store, and diner.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
You can unofficially park across the street at the public library to save on valet parking cost. (Parking at the hotel is by valet only.) Just don't make a big deal about it.

not bad
Our stay was comfortable, not bad for the price. One has to pay for valet because the hotel has no self parking.. that sucked! Close to Santa Monica pier.

This was a cool hotel - and they
This was a cool hotel - and they tried to be. When we arrived in the evening, the lobby seemed more like a trendy bar then a hotel. the staff seemed to be overwhelmed with the number of check-ins however, we settled in just fine. Being near the airport it was handy that they had a scale by the front desk to weigh our bags before flying home. The most disappointing thing was that 'car parking available' in the description actually meant that we could use their valet parking for 15USD per night! There was also no coffee making facilities in the room and its seemed like they were too cool to give any information or welcome pack like other hotels. We only found the pool/bar because we explored. It was a good place to stay as it is a short drive to the lovely LA beaches.

Great place to stay!
The hotel is very modern and very affordable. There is a great pool and lounge. Also, there is free street parking nearby. Which is always a bonus! Also, you're near major freeways, LAX...and the beach! What more could you ask for!

Good Hotel--for the price
I was traveling in LA on business and pleasure, and I was looking for a decent, affordable hotel for a six-day stay in the area that would save me enough money so I could rent a car. For my purposes and for the price, the Custom Hotel was a fine choice. The room was clean, the staff was helpful, the hotel was relatively quiet, and there was a sufficient amount of street parking in the area (so I never had to valet). When I first checked in, they put me in a room with no refrigerator and across from the very loud ice machine--even though I told the person at the front desk that I would be interviewing for a job while in LA. But when I requested another room, they gladly upgraded me. Pros: great price; hotel shuttle; located near two supermarkets (one of which is next door), a Coffee Bean, a park with tennis courts (a plus for me), a library (so you can avoid the expensive printing fees if you have a library card), and free wireless in the room (though it's a bit slow). Cons: the hotel restaurant (Bistrotek) is closed, the beds are low to the ground, the tub is a little small, the hotel location is not particularly vibrant, and beware of the wake-up call service (I nearly missed a dinner because I never received a wake-up call).

Great place to relax after a night out!
The hotel was unreasonable, although it was in a great location, it had awesome breakfAst great view of the town exotic and different hotel like a European feel to it we loved it had a great time. Prepare to pay 15 dollars for valet parking because they don't have any other unless you park in the street about a block away. Hotel is great enjoyed the room.
