Aweful!

Looks nice from the lobby and outside but then u get into your room and it's old, paper thin walls, small and not clean at all! I was there for bussinrss therefore I need my cell phone to be working which it ALWAYS has great reception except in this hotel for some reason. Called the front desk to tell them and they knew already that cell phones don't work there and told me if I stand on the street outside the hotel it should work! I'm like are you serious right now!? Then the staff were very rude unfriendly not helpful and condisending even the manager when I spoke with her to pay yo extend my room because I had more bussinrss. Also parking is rediculas at $28 a day! I would never stay here again! Way too pricey to be this aweful.

Underwhelming, disappointing

High expectations based on marketing and past reviews. Got disappointing room in Anex - Tight, making NYC hotels feel roomy, no real ability to have natural light in bedroom with privacy, could hear the people upstairs pacing. Fine gym equipment although lack of attention to detail - no water cups on both mornings. No place to order a drink with a guest at 9:15pm - Was told to get a beer from room fridge and consume by the pool; Breakfast area so poorly appointed and small, I had to move breakfast meeting to another venue at the last minute.

Low rating due to remodel

My experience was fine, staff was polite and helpful. The problem upon arriving was that the Hotel is in the middle of a major remodel.

OK hotel for the price

This hotel was OK. The room was nice and clean. Most of the furniture was nice although the coffee table was oddly not, it was old and chipping apart. The tiling around the hotel also was off - which was not a big deal but just odd. The staff was fine. The restaurant closed before I got there at 10:00 PM which was annoying because there is nothing in the neighborhood to run out and get a bite at. Overall, I give it 3.5-4.0 out of 5 stars.

The grounds of the hotel ...

The grounds of the hotel are very attractive and the rooms are spacious with kitchenettes. Unfortunately, the rooms are also dated and not very comfortable. - No desk to work at. I had to drag a chair from the sitting room into the bedroom so I could use the bed side table as a desk. - Bed spread looks like it was purchased in 1957, and washed at least twice since then - Bedroom was small compared to a large sitting room, and was poorly furnished - Old, small TV set. - Crazy quilt of stairs leading to the room. You have to go up and down and up and around, and then back down again. Quaint and lovely, but a real pain in the butt with luggage. - The hotel lobby is being renovated, and the main restaurant is closed. They've moved 10 small tables into the bar, and that's it. The food was good (spinach was excellent), but the bar tender / waiter keeps the TV on and turned up load, so it's no place to talk or relax. There is a seeminly nice dining area just outside the bar entrance, but the contractor's trucks are parked literally 4 feet away, and have generators running and exhaust fumes make dining outside impossible. And of course you're right on Wilshire, so traffic is going to be loud and constant. - Forgot about nearby dining options. There aren't any. You're in the heart of a residential district, and have to drive everywhere. The best thing about my stay was the limo service to downtown LA. Outstanding value, and the limo driver was worth putting up with all the other problems. I'll probably stay here again just because of that.

Good Location/Price - Getting Old

While the rooms are getting a bit dated and long in the tooth, the staff was outstanding and professional. The Valet Parking/Concierge was one of the best I've ever experienced. Asked where I wanted to park, gave me advice and even recommended a spot close to my room. Thanks!

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Front desk told me there was an outdoor Westfield's Mall within walking distance. It was wonderful and had several quality places to eat.

Not bad for the price

This hotel wasn't bad for the price. The location was not ideal, it was in between BH and Westwood. Walking to either took a good 20 minutes so it is best to have a car (which costs 30/day to park). Rooms were fine. The walls were a little thin so I could hear people in other rooms. The amenities were great, no complaints there. The staff was also great and very helpful. Bottom line: good hotel if you are looking to avoid paying Bevery Hills rates but still want a decent hotel in a decent location.

My first time stay

I liked the intimacy of this hotel, staff was great, place was clean and relatively quiet. I stayed for two nights and felt very safe. Only thing I did not like was the parking fee, which I felt was too high.
