BEST WESTERN PLUS Royal Palace Inn & Suites

My boyfriend and I are from MI, we traveled to the area to search for apartments/condos. The hotel was basically central to every location we were searching for (Santa monica, west hollywood, west LA, downtown LA, pasadena, etc). There were good places to eat in the area and a shopping mall/movie theater down the street. The beach was very close and the hotel staff were very helpful in telling us where to go for any place we were searching for. Breakfast was free, which helped us cut down on the cost of one meal/day. hot tub, pool, exercise center, and lobby computers all included which was great :) ...definitely worth it to stay here!

So I was apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but I was not disappointed with this hotel. The staff couldn't have been any more friendly or helpful. The bed was SOOO comfortable - and HUGE - the rooms had refrigerators, coffee makers, microwave etc so perfect for making your own food etc. It was also a short walk to an iHop, CVS, VONS and another strip with lots of restaurants and shops. The breakfast was good, a good selection. Fresh pancakes (made in front of you), fruit, boiled eggs, bagels, toast, muffins, juice, cereal, yogurts etc The pool was small yes, but there was never anyone out by it so it was more like a personal pool anyway. Comfortable loungers and a nice hot tub. There is also a gym, which doesn't have much - treadmill, bike, step machine and some weights - but that was fine because it was all we really needed. Laundry room was available to go ahead and put your washing on at your own convenience- v useful! We stayed for ten nights in total with a four night break elsewhere in the middle and the staff remembered us and were very helpful and so friendly. Fred at the front desk was a gem. At one point we moved rooms and left all of our money in one of the drawers, the maid handed it in and we were notified. Wouldn't expect that in Europe! All in all a great hotel that I would definitely recommend!

I only stayed in this place for one night, so I cannot say much. I needed a reasonably priced place to stay close to LAX with parking. It was very easy to get to from the airport. They also had free breakfast and free wifi which made my stay very valuable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nice and clean , free valet parking, no elevator to second floor

We booked the jacuzzi room with queen size bed. It is nice, there is a open living room , a private bedroom and a nice and big bathroom with hot tub. The tub is not as big as we expected, but the room is very comfortable after all.

Our fourth stay at this nice place tucked away in W. LA. Quiet room, nice room amenities (I love they have body wash), cookies and 24 hour coffee/tea. Decent breakfast with hot sandwiches, fruit, cereal, boiled eggs, bagels. My husband says they should give us a frequent flyers discount. This is where we stay when we visit our son who goes to UCLA.

The decor was nice and the room was clean, although many of the surfaces were sticky for some reason. Space is an issue so the bathroom is small and does not have a tub, only a shower stall. The rooms appear to have both a balcony and sitting room, which was nice, and ours had two large flat screen TVs and two closets. The staff was quite nice and the complimentary breakfast was typical for this kind of hotel. Parking is scarce so you have to use the complimentary valet service and probably shouldn't use this hotel if you want to access your car much while you stay. Also, the pool is small and "solar" heated, which was still quite cold on a hot day when we visited. It also had many dead bugs in it, as did the hot tub which did not appear to work.

What a nice place-- Mostly pluses: cookies are a nice touch. Love the lemon water always available in the lovely glass dispenser. Good breakfast with hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, cereal, and hot sandwiches. In room coffee and refrigerators add to the convenience. Great location: close to UCLA/Westwood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica. Easy freeway access. Negatives: you really MUST have a car if you stay here. Not much within walking distance. If the rooms were soundproofed, this place would be perfect. HOWEVER, it's not. We were awakened both nights by noisy neighbors talking in their rooms and in the hall at 3 am. Only my earplugs saved me, but I could still hear them even with that. My husband was not so lucky.

This hotel is off the beaten path but that's ok. It's quiet, clean and inexpensive.

Convenient to all activities planned. Free Valet parking a definite plus. All hotel staff could not do enough for us. Expanded breakfast selections were a most pleasent sueprise. We will definitely be staying here when we return to the area.
