Not a good experience...

We were very dissapointed with the room given to us and we think this was done because we booked through O rbitz. (room 1 in the Bahia tower). Room 1 faces an alley drectly across from a restuarant, a bar and valet parking. The noise from patrons of the bar and resurant in the evening and early morning hours is loud. The resturant's exhaust fan is constant throughout the day. Add to all this add the valet parking activities. In tthe morning you have delivery trucks parking directly in front of your balcony with diesel fumes filling yor room. The room is large but sparsely furnished with a queen sized bed, two small wooden chairs, a tiny table and a TV. The following morning, we asked if there was any possibility to move to another room and thanks to Madison, we were able to change our room. This one had a little ocean view, a mirror and towels that room 1 did not ...plus the noise level was much better. Only two drunk women fighting after a late night wedding reception! Another hidden charge that the hotel does not tell you about is the $24.00 per day valet parking fee added to your hotel bill. And watch out for the high fee for taking out and returning your car during your stay. Madison told us the only way to get a room with an ocean view is to contact the Hotel directly and not through O rbitz. If you do book a room throuh O rbitz, you should immediely call the hotel and ask for n upgrade room. You will be charged the difference. We are sorry but we cant' recommend this hotel. There are better hotels in Laguna Beach in this price range.

Disappointing Room

The room we reserved for $300 a night at this oceanfront hotel was a joke. A bad one. Overlooking an alley, with power lines right in front. We checked out after only 1 night. Maybe the other rooms in the hotel are decent, but this was a serious disappointment.

decent hotel, GREAT location

first, great location. literally right on the beach. walk down and steps and youre on the sand. great eatery (THE DECK) on the beach as well. Staff was nice and friendly. They treat you like you're at a 4 or 5 star resort. HOWEVER, the place is a little rundown. We had a 6month old and a toddler and so we have two strollers and they put us on the third floor where there is no elevator. That was a pain in the a** to go up and down. also, the rooms were clean, but kind of bare of any style whatsoever. and there was only bed. not a single chair to sit in. which was uncomfortable. door separating the next room was really thin and we could hear them the entire time that being said... i enjoyed our stay. i do recommend it as long as you arent expecting much. just wish it was a little nicer and had an elevator for us. or was a little cheaper. for what we paid, i expected something a little more accommodating and comfy.

Beachside

Good times but unless you have an ocean front room you won't want to hang out in it.

Location, location, location

You can't get a better location than an ocean front room at this hotel. You hear the waves breaking 24/7 and can people/dog watch, or just stare out at the sun setting over the horizon, and maybe even glimpse some dolphins or a shark swim by as we have. The hotel is centrally located on the coast highway in Laguna so either way you walk, you have great restaurants and boutiques to visit. The rooms are nothing to brag about, but you have all the basics you need. I must admit that the beds are quite comfy. If it were not for the Easter egg hunt we had in the room, we would not have noticed the cobwebs and dead bugs in the corners and along the curtains & rods. Also, on the receipt, the room was noted to have a pull-out couch, but when we got there, it only had a sitting couch ever since the remodeling. One other amenity I like that they offer is lounges/chairs & umbrella service on the beach. Knowing all the good and bad, I'd still go back again and again, if not just for the breathtaking views and location.

Nick's is a great place to eat any meal, but they only served breakfast on the weekend. The French bakery is wonderful as we frequent it daily, and the pizza place with the girl on the sign is a staple on every trip.
