Clean, comfy hotel in a nice quiet area, but you'll need a car
I was visiting a cousin down at UCSD so I picked this hotel, as its location is walking distance from the campus. The first few nights are very good, as the room is very clean, comfortable, and QUIET. However, after a few nights, another group of guests came in and lived upstairs above our room, and thats when the fun ends. The floor sound insulation at the hotel is quite bad, and what made the matter worse was that the family staying upstairs had KIDS, so they're just running around the room, and the foot thumping noise is just driving me crazy...called the counter to file complain but to no avail. So, in conclusion, if you were to choose this place to stay, which I would recommend still because of its friendly staff, clean / comfy room and nice free breakfast, try to ask for an upstair's room.

Family-friendly hotel
The room have a sofabed and a king bed, and the amenities in kitchen allows us to cook. The location is good, in walking distance we could find a supermarket and also UCSD is very near to the hotel.

Great place to stay
We wanted a quiet convenient place to stay and this hotel delivered. You would need a car to get to the beach or to visit other sights but grocery stores and many chain restaurants were within walking distance. We had a room on the second floor which was quiet and clean. There were a lot of kids staying at the hotel which made the pool and surrounding rooms quite noisy but once the kids settled in for the night it was quiet again. Although the breakfast room got quite busy and chaotic, there was a nice selection of hot breakfast items.

Rob's interview???
I was really shocked with how nice this hotel was. I came for an interview at UCSD medical school and this was honestly the most perfect place to stay. Great location and walking distance from campus. The staff was very friendly as well. The room are extremely nice in my opinion. Huge bed full kitchen, internet etc. Could use a DVD player just in case. The only problem I had was I couldn't walk to the beach. But I knew that when I booked the trip. Great place!

Large room and great service
The stay was very enjoyable. For the price, the rooms are very large, include a kitchen and desk. The bed was comfortable, and everything very clean. But the best part of the experience was the helpfulness of the staff. Seeing that I didn't have a car, they gave me a room close to the lobby. They also have a complimentary shuttle to wherever you want within a 5 mile radius which proved to be very helpful. Also in addition to the complimentary breakfast, they have a complimentary "hospitality hour" which is nice for a snack or light dinner.
