Shorebreak Hotel, a Joie de Vivre Boutique Hotel

Location could not be better - across from the beach with its wonderful mile(s) of facilities and near many small and good restaurants. I wished it had a pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. My negative rating on room cleanliness refers to the bathroom only which poses a challenge to untrained housekeeping staff. Hotel is new and needs to work out a few kinks which I prefer to address with the Joie de Vivre group.

We spent a 3 day weekend to celebrate our 30th anniversary. The hotel checked us in early and upgraded us to a room with a partial beach view. Later that evening when we returned from dinner on the beach we found flowers and a congratulatory card from the hotel staff waiting in our room. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds and the bath is huge with a separate tub and shower. I would definitely recommend this hotel it is located right across from the beach and pier and within walking distance to many nice places to eat and drink. I would stay again without hesitation.

Friendly staff at great location. Enjoyed wine by the fireplace and long walks on the beach. Dinner on the pier was tasty. Room was very spacious with comfortable bed and 2 large flat screen TV's. Oversized Bathtub is perfect for people to soak in

The hotel itself was average. Rooms average, furniture in suite low quality. Friendly staff. Great location, but geared for younger crowd. Fitness room average. No parking. Be prepared to pay for valet parking at $24/night. Garage parking cheaper, but no in/out privileges. Continental breakfast, or at least coffee, would have been nice.

Great location...it is perfect for my family...water and pier just across the street and various restaurants in just few steps. However, the airconditioner was not working. We had to call for service twice and it took few hours before we got it working. [...]

Amazing location one block from the pier in Huntington Beach. Extremely friendly staff. Requested an upgrade upon arrival and they accomodated us. Needed sheets and bedding for sofa bed and hospitality staff not only brought it to us, but made the bed. Everything was brand new and top quality. Would definitely return to this location.

This was a great hotel and I would definitely stay there again. The room was good-sized and really clean. The furniture was modern and stylish and the bathroom had great lighting and mirrors. Most importantly, the hotel is literally across the street from the beach. The Huntington Pier is a block away and there are all kinds of SoCal shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. If you want to stay in, room service was reasonably priced. It's definitely Orange County, so it's not very convenient if you're going to be spending a lot time in LA proper, but even if you are the drive is easy -- just about an hour, give or take. Again, though, it is right on the beach. The same basic location as the Hyatt and Hilton resorts down the street, but much cheaper, more modern, and more appealing to a twenty-something.

Hotel is in an excellent location right in the heart of Huntington Beach. Walk across the street and your feet are in the sand. Incredible staff and beautiful hotel.

Our hotel stay was excellent! The staff was extremely helpful, the room was very open and spacious, and the location couldn't have been better. We'd stay here again!

The hotel is in a great location with mostly friendly staff. The hotel needs to work out the kinks with air conditoning systems and unfriendly staff and upgrade the towels. They literally scratched me. It was a little noisy too. The hotel was clean and can easily be made into a 4 star hotel with a few adjustment.
