Pine Inn

The heater in the room would not turn off......had to sleep without the sheets it was so HOT!!!!!

A perfect spot for a romantic getaway with my honey. The hotel is centrally located on Ocean Avenue, so shopping, beach, restaurants, wine bars, art galleries, and the spa were all within walking distance. The lobby/seating area are beautiful, and though our room was small, was well appointed and clean. I would definitely make a return visit.

Pleasantly surprised by the ornate grander and friendly staff. Very good breakfast and lunch in wonderful atmosphere, (did not eat dinner there due to other plans). Very historic inn and the staff were very attentive and helpful.

This hotel is just 3 blocks from the Carmel Beach! You can find some of the best places to dine within 2-3 blocks; Lots of art shops, etc. The only thing we didn't like was that the rooms were little small, but if you are just going to use it for crashing in the night, it's not that bad. Because of the small size, we felt that the rooms are overpriced, but I guess that's mainly because of the location of this hotel; which is unbeatable for sure.

We were on a road trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco and stayed in this hotel for only one night. There was a car show "tour d'elegance" gonig on in the city which ended exactly the day we arrived, so the hotels were more expensive than they usually are. However, this hotel was really magnificent. The room was very small, but it was nothing i could complain about considering the wonderful ambiance of the hotel and the beautiful lobby. The city itself is so mesmerizing that made this whole trip so memorable. I would definitely stay there again.

It was hard to find the entrance to the hotel. There were no signs pointing the way. The room was small but the closet and bathtub were big. It is located in the middle of many shops and restaurants, and only a few blocks from the beach. The weekday breakfast was great.

Wonderful! We had a very nice standard queen room with sitting area and partial ocean and patio view. The breakfast was great lots of hot and cold items to choose from including eggs, potatoes, bacon, pastries, fruit, juice cereal great bread, yogurt. Staff was good and helpful. Lobby area great with comfortable sofa nd fireplace to rest and read. Location was perfect for us near beach only 4 blocks and shops and galleries right outside.

Wonderful location but a miserable night's sleep. The size of the room was unbelievably small - like nothing I've experienced before - not even in Europe. The over-sized bed and 42" widescreen television monitor mounted on the wall facing the bed made this small room feel even smaller. This room (#21) begs not to have a television as an amenity. There was just enough space to walk around the bed. The closet was inadequate for two people. The bathroom was teenie tiny. The bathtub was one that does not allow you to straighten your legs out, even though it is plenty deep enough. The heat is old-fashioned; very noisy steam heat (!). The pipes banged so loudly and so long during our second night that my partner had to get dressed and go down to ask that something be done. What was done was the heat to our room had to be turned off. Maybe other rooms were nicer, but this particular room is not recommended - at least not for more than one person. Also, there was no refrigerator in-room as the website would lead you to believe is standard in each room.

Really close to the beach and shopping area. Warmy employees and waiters. Very cute and charming guestrooms and lobby. Very nice retreat for a couple days or one weekend. Thank you all!
