Long Live the Magic of Disney

This is a review of the Frontier Tower in the newly remodeled Disneyland Hotel. WHAT WAS GREAT: The rooms are perfectly kept by the cleaning fairies. ** I love the firework theme throughout and the firework lighting on the headboard that plays "when you wish upon a star" when turned on. ** The coffee packs provided makes a wonderful cup of coffee for the single/double coffee maker. ** The bath accessories (soap, shampoo etc) have a wonderfully clean, fresh scent. ** The towels are big and fluffy and there are complimentary robes. ** How awesome is it that Disney recycles!! ** Because of the remodel, it opened up a whole new search for Hidden Mickeys!. ** The hotel Cast Members are so awesome and there is not enough room for all the kudos I have for them (& all Cast Members throughout the park). No matter what, they are always pleasant, friendly and do whatever it takes to meet your needs. Wanted to give 10 stars, but only allowed to give 5. OTHER: For rooms that could hold 5 people, they were a little cramped. ** No balcony or window that opened. ** Had a fridge but no microwave ** It was a good hike to the park, even to the monorail in Downtown Disney. The Fantasy Tower (formerly the Magic Tower) is a little closer if you are able to make a request (this from grandma traveling with son's family) ** The amenities were the sort you expect at any good hotel (laundry room, swimming pool, hot tub, fitness center and daily newspaper) except they did not offer a complimentary breakfast and free parking should be a part of the perks for staying there rather than a good neighbor hotel. I don't know if all the activities offered are considered amenities. The wonderful magical time we had at Disneyland overshadowed the small inconviences at the hotel.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

DINING: Making reservations for restaurants is a MUST if this is how you plan to eat. We discovered that the irregular eating schedule during the day and keeping our dinner reservations caused us to spend way too much money to eat when we weren't really hungry. There are many places to eat that didn't require reservations. If you have children, I recommend getting some breakfast things and stuff to make sandwiches with and since the rooms have a fridge, you can keep some healthy food to bring along with you for the day. You can place a delivery order at the Safeway/Vons in advance of your arrival and designate a delivery time so you won't need to worry about shopping before you get there or leaving once you are there. RECOMMEND: Goofy's Kitchen is the ABSOLUTE best (and fun) place to have breakfast and you will be full all day with this buffet. A great place to meet the characters and get autographs. RESERVATIONS A MUST. Ariel's Grotto is great for meeting Ariel and the other princesses. The selection of food is limited but is all you can eat and brought to your table. You will want to make reservations here also.

what a wonderful vacation!!

We had such a great vacation! I usually choose the cheapest option available, but was feeling a little spunky when I chose the Disneyland Hotel. I would totally reccommend it to anyone that asks! Our room was great with cute little Disney touches, our bed was so comfortable, the staff was great, and i absolutey loved the Disney District. The kids had a blast at the pool. My husband was very impressed with the staff, they all seemed happy to be there, which in turn, made us feel very welcome!

Convenient place for Disneyland

There is no place like Disneyland. You pay a little more to be close, and it is worth it if you don't want to walk or get in your car. Rooms are upgraded and in great condition. There are a lot of cheaper options nearby, but if you want to enjoy the entire Disney experience, it is worth it to stay in a Disney property. Don't forget to ask for Fast Passes when you check in.

Why stay anywhere else!!

From the moment we were greeted as we drove up to the htoel, our expectations were exceeded. We felt bad for checking in early, but there was no issue and not excuses. Our room was beautifully decorated and had two queens and a couch. This felt like a 'resort' and not just another hotel. We spent three days at another hotel before coming to the Disneyland Hotel, and next time - we will spend the little extra and stay at the Disneyland the whole time. They had characters walking around the hotel and greeting their guests throughout the day. Every 'cast member' greeted us and were friendly and helpful. The pool was heated and we spent our last morning after checking out by the pool. The coffee shop was a good alternative to a sit down breakfast and was our first stop before heading into Disneyland. We watched the fireworks from our room - and overall a great experience for our entire family.

That was great!

We had a wonderful experience! The water slides were great. Goofy's kitchen was pricey but super as well. Our room had two beds and a day bed for the 3rd child. We WILL be back!

a great memory made

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel because it was the closest to our adventure in Disneyland. (We were there for only 3 days.) Well, we were so surprised. It was absolutely wonderful. We also loved the new renovations, the huge fireplace outside out Frontier Tower. Oh and Trader Sam's to rest and have a libation between entrances to the park. I certainly will go back as long as I can afford it.

Trader Sam's tiki bar was right across from where we stayed, Frontier Tower. We enjoyed the live music Wed. evening. This was a father and son Hawaiian music. I loved it and the music and drink sealed the deal. Can't wait to go back and hope the same duo is there.
