Location location location

Beauty of a hotel, GREAT location. Wonderful ambiance of course. The day we could get magic hour entry into CA Adventure which is a key reason we stayed there, for that convenience, they turned us away!! Something wasn't working at their entrance? Lovely stay but for price and I reliability of park entrance convenience will prob check out Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier next time for the amnt of time we spend in room and $$ we'd save. Lovely stay however, highly recommend

Getting into CA Adventure at Magic Hour (before public entry) and getting on/ then getting in line for Fast Pass for Radiator Springs Racers. GREAT RIDE but once open to public, line gets two hours plus quickly and Fast Pass sells out.

Worth the extra money for the convenience

We stayed two nights at the Grand Californian with our 4-year-old and 21-month-old daughters. While we normally stay at Good Neighbor hotels to save cash, we decided to splurge on this trip. It was money well spent, and we plan to stay here every trip from now on. The employees are incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, you can't beat the proximity to the parks and the ability to take a nap, if needed. The Magic Hour was an added bonus. The decor in the room was nothing special, but that wasn't important on my amenities list. Spend the extra money on the room with a park view. It is so nice to relax outside on the patio. It also kept our daughters entertained.

Take advantage of the Magic Hour. Have someone camp out in line at the exclusive entrance at the Grand Californian an hour prior to the Magic Hour while everyone else gets breakfast. The Grand Californian park entrance is best for Paradise Pier attractions. The Main Gate entrance is best for Cars Land.

Access to the CA park

One of the perks of staying at the Grand California rather than at the other two properties is that one of the accesses to CA park is through the hotel. Unfortunately it was closed this visit and if we had known that we would have gone back to the Disneyland Hotel. It was a long walk to the hotel for the Grandparents. Please check because the monorail from the Disneyland Hotel was more convenient this time.Otherwise the Grand California was a wonderful experience and have stayed there before.

Fantastic Get Away

Staying at the Grand California Hotel was the best thing we did. The proximity of the hotel to the 2 parks enable our multi-generational group to return to the hotel for a comfortable rest stop. We arrived at 6:45 a.m. for pre-registration and to take advantage of the "Magic Hour." The staff was so accommodating and our rooms were ready by noon. The Magic Hour really made a difference for the kids who wanted to ride everything in both parks. We will definitely do this again.

Best location on Disney property

We love staying at any of the Disneyland Resort properties, but none of them beat the location of the Californian Hotel. If you need to get to your room for a nap or an item left behind, it is so easy to access! The lobby area is beautiful. Rooms are nice. Of course the down side is the price per night!

Great Disney Trip

My husband and I went for a few days to Disney for the first time without kids in 25 years. The Grand Californian had everything we would want for a great adults holiday. Beautiful room, great proximity to parks, delicious food, attentive service and a wonderful bar. We will likely make this a yearly tradition!
