Convenient location and friendly staff

We were greeted with friendly staff the moment we walked in. We were upgraded from a room with 2 queen beds to a wonderful suite. The suite had 2 queen beds, a pull out sofa and a full kitchen. The room was very clean. We had breakfast in the hotel every morning. They offered eggs, hashbrowns, sausages, waffles, cereal, fruit, etc. There was plenty of food and the food was well stocked. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to Disneyland. We would walk there early in the morning and then come back to the hotel for a mid-day pool break. The pool was not fancy, but it did the trick for cooling off before heading back to the park in the evening. We also rented a car and there were no problems finding a parking spot in the parking garage. We would definitely stay there again.

So-So experience

The hotel was less than what we had anticipated. Our reservation was screwed, we had reserved two rooms for four nights and they somehow only had us down for one room for four nights. The continental breakfast wasn't very good and the walls were paper thin. It was so noisy that after 8am we couldn't sleep even if we wanted to. Finally, our room was facing the parking lot. I probably wouldn't return here.

Great if you've got kids..

The first room they gave us was horrible. It was like a sardine can, so tiny with a great view of the..parking lot..We switched rooms and it was slightly better. We went to disneyland, and its a 10min walk from the park. The free breakfast wasn't bad, the local shops and dining options were vast. This hotel needs to be renovated, even though the website says it was recently, I think they spent more time on the lobby and public areas more so than the guest rooms. If you're traveling with small children then this hotel would work out for you. We could never really relax and enjoy the hot tub because there were so many small children because guests are jerks and don't follow the rules. They should really have someone come around and check the hot tub every now and then so that they can enforce the rules, there were children under the age of 5 playing in the hot tub..

Could be better!!

The maid left our room open all day, was not too happy about that luckily everything was still there. Every day the water from the shower would be different, mostly cold or really hot, never perfect. Usually when i stay in hotels the maids make sure not to touch our stuff but every morning our play pen was moved and the toys misplaced, perfume in a different spot, I would have like to have more privacy with my belongings, who knows maybe they went through my suitcases too! My family also stayed here, My dad couldn't even sleep at night because the walls are so thin, you can here everything even a cough. There pillows were also really hard.

Close to Disney and Very Clean Hotel

We stayed at Desert Palms for 8 nights and it was a good hotel all around. We arrived early the first day and while our room was not ready they did give us a parking pass so we could park there for free and walk to Disneyland instead of having to pay for parking elsewhere. The room was a "normal" hotel room, nothing too special or fancy but it was clean, everything in it functioned perfectly and it was kept up well. After we checked in and went to the room I went back and requested a crib for our baby, within 5 minutes it was delivered to the room. It was a clean basic metal crib with 2 sheets and a blanket. There was no charge for the crib and it was easy to move around the room and fit in several different areas very well. Breakfast was good, the exact same thing every day - scrambled eggs, sausage, country potatoes, oatmeal, danishes, same 2 cereals and waffles. The area was constantly being cleaned and maintained so nothing was ever empty and the tables were cleaned very quickly once someone left. The pool and hot tub area were clean but the hot tub needed cleaning. They maintain the chlorine level daily - we know this as our rooms view was the pump and other equipment for the pool so we heard them out there each morning maintaining it. The entire hotel was very clean - every single time I walked through the hotel you saw someone cleaning something. From wiping down the lounge chairs by the pool to cleaning windows, floors, walls and light fixtures. All the employees were very polite and made sure you were taken care of. There is a ton of food nearby - Subway, Pizza, Cheescake Factory, Bubba Gumps, Denny's, Tony Roma's, IHOP and Coldstone Creamery are just a few that are within a 5 minute walk! 7-11 is next door and the ABC store is next to that. We did not eat at the hotel's little bar/restaurant but it looked like a good place to get a drink, not so much a place for a family meal. When we plan our next trip to Disneyland we will be staying here again!

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

When walking to Disneyland - make sure when you leave the hotel you go left. The first day we went right and the walk is WAY longer! Also before you go to Disneyland stop in the gift shop or the ABC Store around the corner and pick up a lanyard, they are the exact same things they have at Disneyland and are a fraction of the price and work really well for keeping your tickets, fastpasses and ID in. Also you can use them if you choose to do the trading pins inside Disneyland.

Convenient & Economical

Stayed here for a corporate gathering at the nearby Convention Center. Five nights can really make a difference between a good place and a bad one, and this fell into the good group of choices for me. The room was spacious with decent amenities, comfortable, and clean. The location was terrific for the Convention Center or Disney, and, while the in-hotel dining choices were paltry (upstairs breakfast room and uninspiring first-floor bar/sandwich joint), there are an abundance of excellent restaurant choices within a short walk.
