Area description
Tucson is in Southeast Arizona just 66 miles north of the Mexican Border. The city grew along the Santa Cruz and Rillito rivers, where native peoples grew corn, beans and squash since pre-historic times. This desert valley is surrounded by mountains known as "Sky Islands."

To the north, the 9,000-foot Santa Catalina Mountains feature the southernmost ski area in the United States. To the east are the Rincon Mountains, rising to the 8,644-foot summit of Mica Mountain. The highest are the Santa Rita Mountains south of the city, with Mount Wrightson reaching 9,453 feet. The lowest are the volcanic Tucson Mountains to the west; the summit is 4,687-foot Wasson Peak.

Great Place to Stay in the Off Season

Incredible value for the type of room, service and amenities when staying there for the off season. We dropped off our son at the University of Arizona, which was only 7 miles away. The resort was perfect since it was only a few more dollars more than less quality hotels near the University. For a little more travel time to the school in the morning, it's hard to beat staying at the Wyndham during the off season!

quiet, peaceful, beautiful desert setting makes you forget you're in the city. restaurant has pleasant outside patio seating. bed and pillows were luxurious. value is exceptional when you come here in the summer as rates are very competitive, not much more than other places that are not nearly so nice.

Great Stay

This was my first time in Tucson and the experience was all around great! The day I checked into my room it was not ready so I was upgraded to another room at no charge. The room itself was beautiful and well maintained. The only negative comment I have is that the tv service was always cutting in and out so it made watching anything impossible. Luckily for me I was not in room to often because I was out seeing the sights in Tucson! I would definitely recommend this resort to someone and will stay there again the next time I visit Tucson.

Westward Look

The place was nice a couple of years ago but appears to be falling apart. The pool was greasy and very murky and was unattended. There were clean towels though. Next time I stay somewhere else.
