Area description
Tucson is in Southeast Arizona just 66 miles north of the Mexican Border. The city grew along the Santa Cruz and Rillito rivers, where native peoples grew corn, beans and squash since pre-historic times. This desert valley is surrounded by mountains known as "Sky Islands."

To the north, the 9,000-foot Santa Catalina Mountains feature the southernmost ski area in the United States. To the east are the Rincon Mountains, rising to the 8,644-foot summit of Mica Mountain. The highest are the Santa Rita Mountains south of the city, with Mount Wrightson reaching 9,453 feet. The lowest are the volcanic Tucson Mountains to the west; the summit is 4,687-foot Wasson Peak.

Two day get away.

Although some things in the room needed a bit of updating, it was spacious and comfortable. We loved walking the grounds and seeing the hummingbirds and other animals.

Beautiful View from Hotel

Hotel is starting too look old and worn. One side of the bed did not have a nightstand or light so one of us was unable to read at night.

Relaxing place

While I probably wouldn't oay full price to stay in any resort, Westward Look changed my opinion of resorts. It's a beautiful property tucked away in North Tucson, and staying here was a truly relaxing experience. So much so that I extended my stay and enjoyed the spa!

Bad start

Housekeeping totally skipped us after first night. In room wifi worked about 10 mins over 4 days. Shower curtain smelled old and was torn up like a cat toy. Plaster was peeling where roof had leaked. Return air grill in bathroom was fuzzy with dust. BUT pool , spa, bar, restaurant , the grounds, and the people were very nice. Even fantastic. That is probably why the room was such a disappointment. The nice lady that checked us out did discount our resort fees but these things should not have been an issue at a beautiful resort like this.

Do not miss the Sonoran desert museum or the Sobino Canyon trail. Both are breathtaking.

Comfortable suite for family stay

Comfortable accommodations for a stay in Tucson. The pool(s), outdoor trails, horseback stables and exercise facilities on site allow many activities even if you don't leave the resort. The location is also good, close to Sabino Canyon trails and shopping for those inclined. Good location for bird watchers, even in Winter.

The hotel sets up a telescope for night viewing, which is an added plus for Tucson's dry weather and clear skies.
