This was my third stay at Westward Look and every stay has been lovely. The rooms are large, clean & quiet. The setting is peaceful. The grounds are beautifully kept and the nature paths are full of life.

Westward Look in April 2013
Upon check-in was not happy with the room. Was to be given a room with a desert view. I even wrote and called ahead to ensure this. We got a room that on was along the road entering the resort. The second room we were given was not any better. The view as of a rock pile -- absolute NO view at all this time. We went to the pool two afternoons. At the main pool there were only 4 towels for the entire pool area and persons using the pool. I moved the lounge chair and the wheel fell off. Tried to drop the back of lounge chair flat and it broke. Used the lap pool the second day -- absolutely no water to be found! Usually at resorts (such as Loewe's) water is provided for all persons at the pool area. Upon check out -- I was handed my bill for the resort fee (still don't know what that was for -- we didn't even get a newspaper!!!) and said this would be our only receipt. Never asked if we liked our stay and never said THANK YOU at all. This was definitely NOT A 4 DIAMOND resort!!! Will not stay again.

Great location, lovely environment
The hotel was great with luxury accommodations, natural desert environment with many varieties of cactus, and sparkling pools and hot tubs. We really enjoyed its proximity to many excellent hiking and trail running areas including Pima Canyon, Catalina State Park, and Sabino Canyon. It was a perfect getaway from our kids though we did see lots of families with children at the resort also. My only complaint is that the food is rather expensive, though there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. Overall a great value!

Romantic Get Away
Several of the whirlpools only worked part of the time. The lap pool was closed for the last two days. They offer a night turn down service which they did the first night. We asked if that service was a chargeable amenity (also daily paper) the answer was no to both. The paper was delivered daily from then on. The turn down service, which included delicious chocalates the first night, never happened in spite of two requests. Sabino Canyon is great. Also, horse back riding at Coco Ranch was fun. Be sure to buy the Tucson Passport at $18.00. It saved us over $100.00.

For an older resort it is well maintained. Staff and location was excellent. Went to Tucson for a week of cycling it couldn't be better located to head out for a days ride in any direction. Great time and look forward to a return visit!

This is a very nice facility and I would recommend it to anyone. The amenities and the price were both outstanding. We had some minor difficulties two nights with house keeping, but they responded immediately to our needs when called. The resort wasn't completely full, but the services and facilities were all top notch. I was most impressed with the knowledge and the flexibility of the front desk staff. We will definitely return to the resort

New Year's trip
It was hard to decide based on reviews and amenities between the Ventana, the Westward Look, La Paloma because they all seemed almost the same. This one is nice , because it's only a mile away from hiking, grocery stores and restaurants. Definitely don't take a downstairs unit , because you will hear the people upstairs . We moved after the 2nd night. Remember, you'll have to add $20 a day for resort fee and the occupancy tax , so the $520 for 4 nights ended up $800 ( including a prix fixe New year's dinner at Gold)
