No Rose Room here

Disappointing. Sedona does not really have a old town and the downtown is 3 miles from the Uptown where most people gathered. The hotel manager was nice and accommodating but this hotel is not a three star as advertised. Maybe in its hay day but not now. You could hear the people in the rooms beside and above you and the first floor patio doors opened up to a parking lot and was not very private. The hotel seems to mean well but after being advertised for $75.00 per room with sale tax, booking fee, and hotel tax it cost $94.00. BTW: the place is painted green and not white.

Great for busines travel

The hotel is not elegant or fancy, but is is clean, comfortable and has friendly staff. I'd call it efficient, a good value, practical, and in a good location. The downsides: no elevator, so you are carrying your bags up to the second floor if that's where your room is, and the staircase is outside. WiFi is spotty. Cable occasionally loses the signal (not uncommon in Sedona). Parking can be tight. The air conditioner is loud, but it beats listening to the noise from the next room The good news: refrigerator, microwave and cross ventilation. A desk to work on with a plug at desk height. Close to supermarkets, natural food store, restaurants.

Thai Spices restaurant used to be in the downstairs portion of the hotel. They moved about half a mile East on State Rout 89A in April 2013. It's a good restaurant with a wide selection of Thai food, cooked to order.

Final price was a surprise.

Listed price was $80. Actual price was $99! Operator said it was due to taxes and O----z fee. We were not aware of O----z fee when booking.

Basic but affordable little gem!

Finding the Whitehouse Inn was a little tricky at first, because for some reason both our GPS and our mobile Maps app thought it was on the other end of town, and when we did get on the right path, we drove past, seeing only the neon sign that said "Thai Spices" sharing the same small pylon. Had I actually thought of it, the map on their website would have helped us tremendously :D (and for those still wondering, it's on the west end of town on 89A, a bit east of Dry Creek Rd, on the north side of the street). Once we did find it though, we were pleasantly surprised by the comfort and cleanliness of the room for such an affordable price. It's your basic 1950s 2-story motel, but had been recently remodeled and/or updated inside. The fridge and microwave were great amenities to have on hand, considering Sedona's grocery and dining prices. There were a few pieces of fruit, some tea and coffee in the front office for breakfasts, but nothing too substantial. The pillows and 2 queen beds were comfortable and had bedbug protector covers on the boxes and mattresses, so that was a big plus too. We also found the room to be fairly quiet. The towels were lacking in size and thickness, but I quickly realized that in the desert, it didn't matter much because of the low humidity. We did have to ask if we wanted more than 2 towels for the room. I was in Sedona both for sightseeing and attending a conference, and my dad was there with me the first night, but left, at which point a friend joined me. The owner was very accommodating and the housekeeper switched out the bedding for us and left extra towels that night to ease the transition. The restaurant attached to the east building had fantastic Thai food (hence the sign that confused us earlier) that was reasonably priced and wheat & MSG free. There was also an organic Italian restaurant just down the road that had lots of delicious gluten-free options. Bonus for all the gluten-free travelers out there! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

Diamond in the rough

Located west of downtown on 89A this is easily one of the older places in Sedona. The owners very obviously put great effort into maintaining this location, and it shows! It's Sedona, so I expected the breathtaking views, but I was pleasantly surprised by the attitude and helpfulness of the staff. I chose the White House because of the cost. Other hotels in the area were almost double the cost, and higher. I was traveling alone and I feel I got a GREAT value for my money and would recommend the White House Inn to travelers on a budget, but would hesitate to recommend to visitors with small children.

Nice place

We checked in in the middle of the night. Staff was very polite and fast at getting us on our way. Room was very spacious & had a nice view. Very clean. Bed was very comfortable - slept great. Room was quiet. Reasonable rate matched the room/environment. I forgot one of my electronics in the room & the staff called me to tell me it was there. They mailed it to me that day. I couldn't believe they called me... Let alone mailed it without charging me a deposit for the cost of mailing. I sent them a check after I got my package. Honest, caring people!
