Unpleasant stay
The Scottsdale Resort was definitely not worth the money I spent to stay there. The grounds were poorly kept, insufficient parking, and the rooms were very out dated with a stench of old. The rooms had no microwave, or refrigerator and the entertainment center was horrific, but they did manage to place FOUR telephones in the room. A king size bed would have been great rather than the two beds that cluttered up the room and two towels for two people is not enough, although more were available upon request it is an inconvenience to have to wait. I wasn't to crazy about the hidden resort fee of $15 a day. The place is also out of the way of everything, so you have to drive a ways to get to anywhere. To summarize, I will definitely never stay there again, much less recommend it.

Very Unhappy!!
I was EXTREMELY unhappy with this hotel. Firstly there personal service besides for the valet was really lacking,Very unfriendly Staff. Secontly I was hit for additional charges that was never mentioned When I booked this Resort Online. One of the biggest problems I had with this Hotel is the lack of reception I had with my cellphone, If you Have A Iphone (with at&t service) Or Sprint. Do not stay here because you will not receive service inside of the hotel, you litually have to walk 1.5 blocks outside of the hotel to have a signal, which is a very bad thing if you're traveling for business and you need you're cell on at all times. I personally would not stay or recommand any of my friends to stay at this specific Hotel Ever.

Don't waste your money....
Frankly, it was totally not worth the money. The hotel and the grounds looked beautiful on the drive up and it was a gorgeous facility. However, the staff was not friendly and they talked down to you each time you asked a question. On top of that the food was really less that stellar. We went to the Sangria Lounge and had some dinner. The food was terrible. It was like eating at a bad no-name restaurant and being charged double. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The next day we went to brunch. I was not impressed either. There $50 per person brunch was not work $50. They had bad champagne and the most expensive item they served were shrimp. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Older style hot rooms
The hotel is older and needs an upgrade of modern conveniences. The room size is very good and grounds are fantastic. Unfortunately the water pressure in the shower and the type of shower head needs improving. More critical was the stuffiness and lack of adequate air conditioning. We live in Arizona and we don't travel to Scottsdale in July with 110 temps to be in a room that just won't cool down even when the set at 60. While the food at the hotel might be phenomenal it was way over priced.

Worst Hotel of the Year
Wow 5 Things I hated!
Well to put it simply I was nickeled and dimed to death. It started with a 16 dollar per day resort fee for access to a coffee bar and a newspaper. I never got the newspapers either night I stayed there and Coffee was available in the room. THE ROOM smelled like mildew I believe it was because we were across from the air conditioner. We had Sunday Brunch there and to say the least it was not a good experience. We arrived without a reservation and with the whole restaurant empty they made us wait fifteen minutes. I was not impressed by the choices and to boot they charged 40 dollars a head. To add insult to injury they charged an additional 21% service fee.... I got up to get my own food and they charge 21% for pouring drinks. To say the least I will not be staying at this dump again. Don't let the pretty pictures fool you, even if you have the money to waste waste it elsewhere.

poor housekeeping
The front desk staff was not warm and welcoming when I checked in, but it was late. They also neglected to give me a mini-bar key. The location is great and the hotel COULD be great, but it isn't. My room air conditioning had minimal control and smelled of old smoke. Carpets in the hallways needed cleaning. When I went to shower the first morning I noticed the soap from the last guest was still there and used! When I returned from my meetings I noticed my door ajar and that it didn't close all the way - door strike was off and the door lock attached to the door jam was coming off the wall. To top it off, there was some medicine wrapper/container that was on the floor near the spare bed in the corner that was NOT mine. Clearly, they don't check under the beds for garbage, etc. I also noticed that upon checkin there were several dirty towels and old drinks by the pool. Not inviting and clearly no one was around to clean up. Housekeeping was good about taking care of things after attention to the issue was brought up. However, when I complained to the general manager he was flipant about it and didn't seem that concerned -I don't feel he really listened to my complaints. He stated that they were a luxury establishment and it seemed that he felt that by just stating that everything was ok! The whole staff's attitude is not one of care or concern - it seems that they are just doing a job. If cleanliness is a priority consider this hotel carefully. It could be a very nice place, but seems like they need a re-vamp of staff - management, front desk and housekeeping...

Not SO much!
The minute we got out of our car, a gentelmen asked us " are YOU really checking in?" We replied, Yes. He than told us that we couldn't park there and that he'd park our car in the customer lot. My wife told him that she could do that. After he rolled his eyes he than told her where to park. THAT WAS IT! My wife bitched for 2 hours about the way we were treated. WELCOME TO THE SCOTTSDALE RESORT!

Okay, some issues
The hotel was okay - they did put us in a room overlooking the golf course (which we still could not see) which was way down the hall on the third floor. It was extremely noisy with guests/kids in the hallway until almost midnight where our room was so I don't think it mattered. The hot water in the tub/shower was on 'boil' at the lowest setting and when we told the front desk about it, and the fact the bathroom door would not shut, engineering came and remedied both the same day. A curved shower rod would be an improvement in this hotel. The room was dark and did not have a lot of light even with lights on inside. Bed making defintely needs work as the sheets were rumpled as left in the morning (with bedspread covered over) and sheets where not changed the four nights we stayed. There is NO safe in the room so I had to take my laptop down to the front desk to be put in a safe deposit each day and retrieve when back in the evening. There was a fire pit one night that looked great. The pool looked nice but we did not have time to enjoy it either. The restaurant food was good for the two breakfasts we had - however the gratuity is automatically added which I thought was unusual for two people!!!

** Stay away from the Tortilla Factory in Scottsdale as a big disappointment. ** Take the 1/2 hour drive to go to Pinnacle Peak Patio!! We were there at sunset and was awesome with good food and Western cowboy singing entertainment.
