GREAT place on a budget!

This is a hidden gem. I lived in Scottsdale many years ago, but never really knew of this property other than the name. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL! There is a 1 mile walking path that is an absolute delight in the mornings - What a way to start your day! Although the property is older, the prices & service by the front desk staff are fantastic! There were a number of discounts & freebies that were a surprise when I arrived - 1 hour bike rental, $25 off a local spa, etc. The location is FABULOUS! Within walking distance - Walgreen's, Trader Joe's, shopping, Dolce' Salon, Houstons, Starbucks, J. Alexanders, Tacos & Tequila, etc.

No food/drink allowed at pool

Seemed like the staff was more interested in filling drinks than providing clean towels or picking up old ones left on chairs. We've never been to a resort where you couldn't bring in one beer - I'm not talking a cooler - without the staff telling you you're breaking the law!!! Carpets were worn, back patio locked, needs refreshing but can't beat the location.

A great place

The resort is beautiful - lots to do and surrounded by gorgeous scenery. The pool is great - tons of space, and open most hours of the day. The casitas were spacious, though could use a little sprucing up. The staff is phenomenal. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The town car service the hotel provides is very convenient. We can't wait to return to Scottsdale and wouldn't hesitate in staying at Cottonwoods again. We had a great stay.

Fine for retired people

The staff was absolutely fantastic, were always there at your beck and call. The accommodations were average, could use some updating but the grounds and surroundings were great. Nice pool and hot tub area, the restaurant was very nice and the food was great as far as the breakfast goes. We were on the go a lot so really did not get a chance to really enjoy all the amenities. We would probably return in the future.

family get away

Was suppose to stay 2away nights. So dissatisfied with accommodations I canceled 2nd night. Looked like a charming boutique hotel in pictures, but it was nothing more than an "old" 70's condo complex.
