Scottsdale resort ranked among the world’s best by Travel + Leisure

The five-star InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa draws inspiration from Spain's Andalusia region to create an unforgettable Arizona experience. Situated at the foot of postcard-perfect Camelback Mountain, the resort is just minutes away from Scottsdale and Phoenix attractions such as Old Town Scottsdale and the Phoenix Zoo. But with golf, fine dining and an award-winning spa, guests settle into plenty of activities at the InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa.

Highlights
  • Sunset Cinema series with al fresco film screenings
  • Planet Trekkers Kids Club: Indoor and outdoor activities like life-size chess, treasure hunts, gaming room (Wii and X-Box) and more
  • On-site Joya Spa
  • Priority tee times are four area golf courses
Rooms

Thirty-five acres of lush desert landscape are the backdrop for the incomparable rooms, suites and villas at InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa. Expect poster beds, desert, pool or mountain views, private patios or balconies and the Divine Bed by Joya Spa. Flat-panel HDTVs, free Wi-Fi Internet access, luxurious sunken bathtubs and showers with dual showerheads are some of the amenities that make this resort a Scottsdale standout.

Features

While the heart and soul of the InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa comes from Andalusia, there are other influences here, too -- a restaurant inspired by Villa San Michele in Tuscany, a wedding chapel with elements of the Hotel Cipriani in Venice. The Castillo Lucena event space is accented with 16th-century palace double doors from the village of Luceno in southern Spain.

Dining

Restaurants, bars and cafes at the InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa represent some of the best of Scottsdale, from Lavazza coffee drinks and housemade gelato to award-winning fine dining at Prado, where the dinner menu changes daily to highlight the freshest ingredients available.

Recreation

InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa features five pools surrounded by palm and citrus trees and direct views of Camelback Mountain. Soak up the sun or relax in the shade of a luxury cabana.

Joya Spa provides a combination of bliss-inducing services, including spa treatments, salon services, a yoga and fitness center and global spa cuisine at Joya Terrace.

The bed was a soul sucking bed that was super comfy. The room was very clean and the staff were extremely helpful and quick. I'm usually a little bit of a penny puncher and i booked this hotel for our wedding night and I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

Very comfortable, great views, and wonderful dining.

It was our first time at this resort and we were truely impressed. Our rooms were very attractive and comfortable. The views from the hotel, ie the mountains were delightful, especially at sunrise and sunset. We particularly enjoyed the dining experience and entertained friends of ours from Scottsdale one evening. They also were impressed. It made for a very enjoyable vacation

Fabulous Resort!

The resort was wonderful. We ate at Prado two nights and the food was mouth watering! The staff is warm and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The fitness facility is top notch. We didn't get to go swimming as it was raining - but the pools looked great! You need to walk a lot to get around the facility. We will absolutely stay here again!

Great couple's getaway

This resort was gorgeous and was the perfect winter getaway for me and my husband. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom, particularly the very large shower, was fantastic. The staff were really friendly and the concierge was very helpful. We loved going to Crave Cafe and Centro Lounge. Happy Hour at Mbar was also great. The menu at Prado looked good but was a bit expensive. The pools were gorgeous and kept at a great temperature. This resort was great for the value!

an oasis in the desert

From waking up to the view of the red rocks of Camelback to dining at the end of the day by the fire pit at the outdoor restaurant the Montelucia exceeded our expectations at every turn. The staff was solicitous of our satisfaction and responded quickly and cheerfully to any request we had. They had been trained well and were genuinely appreciative of their jobs. We came to the area for the Cactus League games but found ourselves finding excuses to leave the games early and get back to the Montelucia.

Awesome!!!

From our arrival to departure, just excellent and very friendly service in everyway! We also tried all resteraunts and bars on location, very good food and service. We had their special Valentine's Day dinner and it was devine, especially adding the wine pairings. Overall a very lovely place. The concierge, Moorefield was very helpful making all of our tee time arrangements too! I just can't say enough about this place! Going back ASAP!

Stay Here!!

Everything was perfect! We had our room upgraded with help from friendly staff, and I have never seen a cleaner room. Room service would even fold our clothes we threw on the floor! The place was quite and located around the corner from a great mountain to hike. We can't wait to return!

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Camelback mountain is a great work out just around the corner from the resort. But if you don't make it to the mountain there is a great gym available at the resort.

Special Family Holiday...

We arrived at night and the view was breathtaking. I loved the firepits, smell of the burning fireplaces and beautiful holiday lights. It was a perfect visual welcome. The valet/attendants were 5 star and met all our needs as soon as we entered to register. The room was exactly what I requested. The patio furniture needs updating though due to lack of comfort and stains. The housekeeping staff deserve high praise for all their efforts. I also suggest seek off site options for dining. The only place worth a 5 star rating for customer service was the Crave Cafe. Spa service was lacking. It was below expectations compared to other resort spa services. The resort in itself is wonderful and relaxing. Prado and Joya Spa could use staff retraining for customer service. All in all (despite Prado and Joya Spa) it was a memorable holiday trip for my family.
