Small but mighty

I was looking for a room in a certain price range close to the Desert Botanical Garden (less then 2 miles away) in Phoenix and close to Old Town Scottsdale. The location was perfect. The hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, pool was great!

Perfect for 2 people

The staff was friendly, efficient & helpful. We were in a queen suite and we felt the room was really too small to accommodate 2 queen beds. Would opt for king suite the next stay. The room was tastefully decorated and spotless. The beds were very comfortable & bedding was lovely. The only thing we felt the room lacked was storage for our things. We emptied our suitcases & put them back into the trunk of our car as there was no place to put them in the room. The wonderful park, literally steps out our door, was an added perk. We walked several miles every morning on the walking paths. We ate several picnic meals on the tables scattered throughout the park. Location of hotel was perfect too! Close to many things but a few blocks off the beaten path. Would stay there again!

Nice for the price

The hotel is modestly nice. The rooms are updated and comfortable, the pool is nice, and the hotel was next to a park that was perfect for my morning runs. I wish the hotel had a bar/restaurant associated with it. There was a bistro next door, but it's out of business. Somewhere handy for a morning coffee or evening meal or drink would be nice. Nonetheless, nice, but modest hotel, but don't expect much else in the area.

decent, nothing special

Bed was a little hard for my preference. The room was decent size, clean and had all needed amenities. Pool was much smaller than expected and in the shade so it was too cool to swim while there. Was a little bummed that they threatened charging for pool towels if we did not return them at a certain time. Also tried to charge family $20 extra each night for the third person staying in a double queen room (typically a 4 occupancy room from the get go). They did not provide any additional towels for our family and removed the charge upon complaint. Over all, it was ok. Probably won't stay there again.

Good location but....

The motel, yes motel, was conveniently located but the value drives the frat boys in. My wife and I stayed for 5 days which included a weekend of spring training and it seemed that the frat boys stayed about 5 deep to a room and I'm also mentioning that a toddler was in the adjacent room. Can deal with the toddler because it's a toddler but 20 somethings behaving like toddlers is a little different. In shorter words the walls are paper miche thin. Stay at your own risk and be prepared to be sleep deprived!

A nice place to stay

Now don't expect a fancy place. Just your average motel, with doors leading directly outside. It's been newly decorated, but not to my taste.....but that's no big deal. Beds were great. Rooms had mini frig, microwave, coffee maker, and safe. Nice pool and hot tub. The staff George and Madison were so helpful. It is walking distance to a sports bar and Denny's. Across the street is a grocery/drug store. And at the corner, a bus stop for a free shuttle that takes you to Old Town for shopping. I know we overpaid for the room, but it was the most affordable around, since we went during Spring Training and Spring Break. I would go back again.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

We ate at the Salty Cellar...a seafood restaurant completely underground. Good food, but it was crowded and we felt rushed. Frank Lloyd Wright's house was enjoyable and so was the Botanic Gardens.

Nice Boutique Hotel and Great Value

Overall experience was good. Staff was professional, friendly, and courteous at check in. This is a 2.5 - 3 Start boutique hotel. Crowd ranges from young 20s to mid 40s. Get a room next to pool. They have great song birds just outside that sound like you are in a tropical location. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Decor is kind of young hip vibe. You are only about 5 min drive to the cool restaurants in Scottsdale. Great value for the money spent.
