Not Royal at all
The amenities of the hotel are minimal; has tons of rooms, but small facilities. The resort itself is nice, but not outstanding. Don't expect to get much out of the resort fee you are charged daily. There is a tiny pool and about 50 chairs around it.So it is very crowded. The SPA is small as well and does not offer much other than lockers and a relaxation area (which consists of 2 couches and 2 large tables with beverages). There is only one restaurant and they the receptionist screens you (much like they'll do at the airport) and if you are well dressed and over 50, you'll get a good spot and a good waiter. If you are not a seniour or well dressed, they'll send you to the back where they have the worse tables and bad service. The staff pretends that they care, yet they don't do anything to exceed your expectations. My only good experience is the breakfast menu on Saturday: the cheff prepared the best eggs ever. However, the waiter was super rude, brought orange juice with a mosquito flying on it and after bringing the eggs and coffee, brought us the check (he didn't even wait for us to have a bite!). All the staff in that resort treat you like they are doing you a favour as if you didn't pay the $600 (tax and resort fee included). The rooms have thin walls (I heard everything that my neighbout was saying at all times); the shower has an opening on the ceiling that lets the light come into the entire room very early in the morning, so bring a mask and earplugs if you want to sleep. I would not recommend anyone staying here. If you haven't travelled much around the world, then maybe you will think that this hotel is awesome. But I have stayed in 5-star hotels all my life, have travelled around the globe and this is not a 5-star hotel at all. It is overpriced and on check-out day, expect the cleaning staff to take a peek at your window several times because they can't wait for you to be gone.

Fashion Sq its pretty close to the Royal Palms; you are must likely to go as you'll get bored at the resort pretty easily. Shops are really good! Not price wise, but there is lots of variety.

Great Experience
This is our second time back, and as last time we enjoyed everyday. I can't speak highly enough about the staff, they go the extra mile to make sure that we are not just guest but part of their family. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. The only disappointment this time was the bar/lounge the food/appetizers were ok, cocktails/wine appeared a little expensive. Service was good. We will be returning soon, and again stay at The Royal Palms, it home away from home!

Can't wait to get back there!
We travel - alot. We have stayed at the best hotels throughout the world. Royal Palms tops our list. The resort is beautiful, scenery is stunning, restaurant is outstanding, but the most impressive element is the staff. Every single person made us feel right at home. It doesn't get better than this!

Summer Getaway
Maybe it was because it was their slow season but the Royal Palm did not live up to it's reputation. Rooms were in need of some updating (carpet frayed and worn, shower head leaked and sprayed in all directions, etc). Understanding it is a resort but come on, $6 for a beer? Very overpriced! Staff was very attentive. Jose at the pool rocked this place! Always had our water glasses filled, umbrella moved, dry towels, etc. He needs to be recognized by management. All in all we had a good time but not feeling like the value was there compared to some other newer resorts in the area. Spa was great however. Maybe that is the saving grace for the Palms. Sasha was outstanding!

No worries!
I had been looking at this hotel for quite some time and finally had the opportunity to visit. It was beautiful and all pics on the website reflected the place perfectly. The staff was very helpful in all areas. We even got a room upgrade and the room was away from hotel traffic, and so quiet during the evenings. I would travel back there anytime. One thing that would be great is to bring some of your own food and water. I noticed some people at the pool brought their own and I learned why, there is no close place to grab water if you do not have a car. The staff at the pool made sure you always had water but we went on a hikeand had none to bring with us There is none for purchase either. My friend and I were so happy and relaxed and would love to go back.

Ultimate Spa Vacation
My sister and I made this trip to visit relatives in the area and decided to stay here so we could also schedule some "spa time". We were not disappointed. This is truly one of the best resorts we have been to. The entire staff made us feel so welcome. Our six night stay seemed too short. We will be going back!!
