A GREAT place to stay!

We went to Phoenix for the NCAA Regional basketball games. The location of the hotel is perfect if you are going to US AIrways Arena. All the restuarants and bars you need are right there also. For me this is the place to stay in Phoenix!

Wyndham Phoenix stay

The room was beautiful. My only complaint would be there was not enough lighting in the restroom (shower/toilet) area. Also, the toilet continued to run long after flushing and the flush was very weak.

I expected more from a four star

To start with they weren't really set up to supply a crib. They ended up digging out an old crib that was definitely not safety compliant. We weren't told ahead that there was going to be a $23.00 parking charge per night, and because of this hotels location there wasn't any other parking available. We had trouble getting a good nights sleep due to noise at night such as alarms that were going off for hours. The bathroom had not been completely cleaned. There were brown "dirt" spots on the tub and the previous occupants shower cap was still hanging in the tub/shower. The concierge was friendly and helpful with directions. Most of the staff seemed pretty friendly except for the front desk.

[...]Doesn't Get HOSPITALITY Business

The rooms are small. Valet Parking is slow and over-priced. The young woman at the front desk ([...]) was like "why are you here?" Both on the phone and in person, she was surly, rude, and certainly doesn't understand that she is in the hospitality busines.

Good but not worth the price

We went to Phoenix to see a show at the US Airways Center. The hotel was within walking distance which is why we chose it. The rooms were OK, nothing fancy and quite small but clean. It appeared as though the room was recently remodeled and was done with poor workmanship. The room looked nice, but the tile in the tub was not grouted properly, the toiletpaper hanger was dangling from the wall, the window blinds came off their rollers. The dining options were terrible to say the least. However, we stayed over a Saturday night and most restaurants in the area cater to the business crowd and were closed on weekends. We were forced to eat dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, anyone who's been there know their food leaces something to be desired. For breakfast we ate in the hotel's restaurant; don't bother. The buffet was terrible although the menu items were OK. Also, what they don't tell you is that parking is extra--$23 even though the brochure in the room states $19--and the tip is not included, so expect to add $25-$30 to your already overpriced room. The one redeeming quality is that the staff was very kind and helpful. All in all, I would stay there again if I had a need to be in the area, but would not otherwise.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Find your hotel on Cheaptickets and then go to the hotel's website to book your room. You'll save roughly 10% that way. Cheaptickets uses the average room price and the hotel was actually cheaper this time of year.
