Howard Johnson Phoenix Airport/Downtown Area

The room was not what I expected to be. The tub was not all that clean. The breakfast was not good. The air condition kept me up all night because it was so loud. The internet worked when it wanted to. If I was to go back, I would not stay at that hotel.

This is NOT a hotel. I had considered spending the night at the airport. Now I wish I had. Pest management tech was leaving as I walked in. Shampoo had been previously opened. Somewhat sketchy part of town and dead lock was broken. towels not clean and were frayed. Pillows were worn and lumpy foam. TV did not work correctly. Carpet was dirty. Air conditioner about twice as loud as normal. Shuttle to airport however, was great and motel is right on the city bus line. I had stayed at another inexpensive hotel in the area and it was great - not the Hilton - but clean and nice, so I know it can be done.

The only bad thing was while cleaning the outside with a blower they got my car all full of dirt. Everything else was good. Like the fact that it was closed enough to every place I planned to visit.

Nice and Quiet, great for the business traveler.

We stayed at the hotel only for its airport shuttle, which was very fast, easy and convenient. The rooms need some work and have a lot of drywall damage -- it also looked like our door was kicked in at some point. Staff was friendly and helpful. If you are very picky about your hotels, I would probably pass this one and spend the money for a nicer place, but if you are looking for a good price and convenience, this one will do fine.

we were very pleased with the hotel,the rooms were clean, the mgr.was very nice and extremely helpful.The location was close to the rail train and bus stop,The shuttle service to the airport was efficient and no longer than a five minute wait.The continental breakfast was more than expected.just what we were looking for in a two day stay. This was by far the worst accommodations I have ever reserved online. I have never stayed at a Howard Johnson before, so I just went by the pictures and amenities listed on the hotel listing. First of all, the room was extremely small, the full sized bed barely fit and dresser was literally blocking some random door in the room. Next, the TV was a small box TV. The showerhead did not move; the water shot straight to one's face. The room was dirty including the carpet. The complementary breakfast was the only positive part of the trip; they did have a variety of choices. Lastly, at one point I tried walked to the front desk, because the phone in the room did not work, to ask a question about the city and I literally waited 15 minutes and no one appeared.

We stayed at Howard Johnson, Downtown Phoenix on East Van Buren. The facility is an older facility with basic amenities. The room was spacious and the beds were very nice. The continental breakfast was sufficient and the dining area was bright and clean. The hotel staff/management was very cordial. The location was excellent; just a few miles away from the airport and highways 10, 202 and 101.

The room was run down, holes in the comforter, smelled of mildew. The pool was not clean. If I was not there with friends, I would never of checked in.
