Inexpensive hotel in sketchy area
The owners of the hotel are doing the best they can to offer good secure service for their customers, but it is hard to overcome the handicaps of the area. They offer a breakfast of packaged baked goods starting at 4 am, free airport shuttle service, and even parking for your car if you want to leave it there when taking a flight. There is signage announcing extensive video monitoring of the premises, which helps a little. The hotel itself is in a run-down part of Phoenix near a gas station where you have to pay in advance, out-of-business businesses, and desolate-looking housing complexes. Our bed needed replacing--the desk clerk said that they hadn't renovated that part of the hotel yet. I think the owners are trying to make it nicer--meanwhile the price was inexpensive and if you need to make an early trip to the airport, it may work for you.

Great Place
We were very happy with our hotel stay. All the staff was very helpful and great at giving directions to places we wanted and needed to go. We would stay there anytime we go to Phoenix AZ.

Short drive from hotel
The Botanical Gardens in Phoenix is worth the drive there. We went early because it was warm later. It is so beautiful and we saw lots of cacti in bloom. It was well worth the price.

If you're looking for a cheap place to stay the night before an early flight out of Sky Harbor, this is a good option. The continental breakfast opens at 4 am and offers bagels, instant oatmeal, apples, coffee and juice. The complimentary airport shuttle was convenient and on-time both directions. The best part was that they only charge $4/day to leave your car at the hotel while you're out of town. The mattress was a little too firm and it's a rough neighborhood, but the room was clean and I felt comfortable leaving my car in the hotel parking lot for the weekend.

Fair price for what you get
The hotel shuttle is actually a parking lot shuttle so it can take a while to get there, and the shuttle is only hourly in the morning. No iron/iron board in room Breakfast very limited, but at least there is something and it is out early, 4am Staff friendly.

Perfect for Night Before Airport
Second time I have stayed. Perfect for the night before an early AM flight from PHX, when you have to return a car. Very convenient to car rental facility. Not the greatest neighborhood, but staff is friendly, room is clean. Good value.

Great price, but you get what you pay for
The price was right and for those who are literally staying overnight until their flight somewhere else, it is fine. But there are cons: 1. as everyone said, the area is shady 2. there isn't much other than this place in the area 3. the room, though clean, did have a weird smell Overall, as a girl traveling solo for the night, I double bolted my door.

Econolodge
Was the cheapest, closest hotel for Phoenix ComicCon. The beds were clean but the AC was too weak for Phoenix in the summer. Pool was nice, but way too small for the amount of rooms. Front desk staff for check in was absolutely horrible. Check out staff was amazing, however. BOTTOM LINE: This hotel was not worth the money we spent. We could've spent 20% more money for 50% more hotel. We will not stay there again.
