Comfort Inn I-10 West at 51st Ave

I made the reservations 3 months in advance and they could not get the rooms next door to each other. The rooms were at opposite end of the hall. The carpeting and wall paper need some serious updating.

Just arrived. Go to room. Open door. ALREADY OCCUPIED!!!!! New room: Carpet turned feet black walking from bathroom to bed. No dvd player. TV channel selection bare bare bare minimum. Almost every morning they ran out of some breakfast item. For THREE days during mid 80 degree temps all of the ice makers in the Hotel stopped working. Pool was never cleaned all week. There were no attempts to rectifiy these situations, only an I'm sorry, or, in a day or two, or I don't know, from the staff.

Check-in -- Got the old "we don't have your reservation" runaround. I'd called a few days before and confirmed, also had the confirmation info from Orb-tz. After stalling dude says oh yes I see you now but you didn't spell your name right. Huh? Then he insisted that it was for one king when I made it for 2 queens which I'd confirmed and had printed proof of. But I took the king as I wasn't in any mood to haggle. I felt like he was trying to get me to pay for an "upgrade". (He'd told the person in front of me that they were sold out, so when demand > supply, maybe they get greedy.) Be warned. Room: The good: Microwave and fridge were nice to have. The bad: The bedside lamps only worked if the very bright entryway light was on. The desk was sagging in the middle -- didn't realize it was meant to be sat on. In three nights we got one change of bath towels and never got a change of bedding. A small spill of crumbs was never vacuumed up. A/C unit was noticeably louder than most but worked adequately Facilities: Didn't use the laundry (one washer and dryer) or the pool but they looked ok. The wireless was kinda slow but can't complain for free. The computer room was free, with one printer (not on the W/L network) and one PC which was used a lot. Lots of empty parking stalls for a "sold out" hotel. Breakfast: Best thing about this place. Huge spread. Here's what I remember (no I didn't eat all of it!) -- Coffee (decaf/reg), tea (hot water/teabag), juice (cran/apple & orange), ice water; fridge w/low-fat yogurt, butter, cream cheese, hard-boiled eggs; steam tray with scrambled eggs, sausages, biscuits & gravy; cold cereals (raisin bran, corn flakes, cheerios) and skim/whole milk; blueberry/plain waffles (do-it-urself w/waffle iron) and syrup; toaster for wheat/white bread and bagels; muffins; fresh fruit (bananas, oranges); condiments (S/P, ketchup, mustard, hot sauce, cream/sugar, grape/strawberry jam, honey). Not bad... Location: Very convenient, right off I-10, but LOTS of truck traffic on freeway and surface streets. No traffic light at intersection of Latham/51st; to turn left (to freeway), usually turned right and made a U. This was a nice central location for getting to the games I wanted to see, in Goodyear, Surprise, MaryVale (just up 51st), Tempe, Salt River Fields, Mesa.

good price. a little out of the downtown area but easy access to public transportation.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel in the last month and it will not be the last. The rooms are clean and comfortable .Breakfast is a step above the normal continental variety. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The only problem I encountered was the spa blower pump was inoperative but that was minor issue.

I booked this room because I needed a cheap overnight stay for some surgery I had scheduled. I wasn't expecting much, but I was very surprised at the quality I found. First, my reception was warm and welcoming. the room was clean and well equiped. It had a refrigerator as well as a microwave. The nice sized flat screen TV could be seen well from almost anywhere in the room. The bath room was clean and well equiped. I expect to be back. Tom

went to hockey game from there. thought it would be fairly close which I guess it was but was still 35 dollar cab ride. Staff was friendly and bed was comfy.

BEST HOTEL I have ever stayed at HANDS DOWN! The best hotel bed, as good as home or maybe a little better! Everything you need in one place. Stayed for 7 days! Even extended my original stay as long as possible. UNBELIEVEABLE RATES! BEST DEAL IN PHOENIX.

The hotel was pretty, and the room was clean comfortable. The location is really dark at night and the lack of lighting made it slightly hard to find, but it is right off the freeway and made travel easy.

Hotel is right off the freeway and we had a lot of places to be on our short stay so being along the interstate was great. There are plenty of fastfood restaurants and gas stations close to hotel. For the buck, it was a very good rate. The complimentary breakfast was the only thing that could be improved. I know its free, but it almost wasnt worth the time. All in all, the hotel exceeded my expectations. Last minute trip and a great price!
