Superb choice for budget-minded traveler

I read great things about the Budget Lodge prior to my trip, and I was not disappointed. It is a very well-maintained, family-owned/operated hotel. The staff was super friendly, the facility was in great condition, and the room was very clean. The complimentary breakfast was meager (coffee, OJ, bananas, and donuts), but satisfactory for a cheaply priced hotel. The neighborhood isn't the greatest (lots of homeless people wandering around at all hours), but the hotel itself seems pretty secure (no access to interior or exterior rooms without a key card). For the price compared to other hotels in the area, the Budget Lodge can't be beat! I strongly recommend it to others.

Hidden Gem!

This is one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in. The people are very nice, everything is spotless. Coffee, juice and simple snacks in the lobby in the morning. I've stayed here twice this year, and will stay again. Great bargain. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that restaurants are not readily nearby. It gets high marks for me in that it is extremely reasonably priced and it's convenience to area events.

Great value, excellent service

I needed just a room while I was exhibiting at a conference. Didn't need a pool or entertainment, but had a comfortable bed, big TV and free wireless. This was a super value for my purpose, squeaky clean and excellent friendly service from the owners. A few blocks from downtown; could walk to the convention center (in cooler weather).

The Good... and some what bad

I've stayed in other Hotels which where nice. I can't say this was bad. The room was nice, the beds where a little comfortable. The wireless net was eh, okay. But it was a nice room and quite, that me and my sister like it a bit. But... I can't say that about the manager, it seemed like every five seconds, he was calling, not to check up on us or anything, he was asking about stuff. Now, I know it's a small place and we are girls but he didn't need to call and ask why the door was open. If I wanted a dad I would have stayed home. But it was close to the Phoenix Convention center for the comicon.

Phoenix ComicCon trip

Extremely clean. Was remodeled two years ago and still spotless. No food places nearby. Church's Chicken and McDonalds are two blocks away. Airways Center, BankOne Ballpark and convention center around 7-8 blocks away. Walking distance but not during the summer or if in bad physical shape. No coffeemaker but fridge and microwave in room. Hairdryer also in room. A lot less expensive than other hotels in the area.
