Budget stay at Budget lodge downtown Phoenix
Nothing can beat the price of this place for this area. The room was quite clean and the entire motel is better off than one might expect of an establishment of this type. The TV, wi-fi, coffee-maker and more - all worked. It was not noisy. There were plenty of spaces to park, which we have used. And this place is blocks away from downtown Phoenix attractions, close to the light rail, which gets you to a lot of places in the greater Phoenix area.

Drove into downtown Phoenix with no place to stay...
Drove in downtown Phoenix with no place to stay, and came across the budget lodge.......this place is a hidden gem. Not too much to look at on the outside, but by far one of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in. The owners are very nice and always eager to help no matter what the issue. We were going to a sporting event at the US Airways Center and walked the couple of blocks....... Great place to stay....and will be staying again next time we are in town.

Best bang for your buck
My stay was great. The staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful with where to go for food. My room was sparsely furnished/decorated, but very clean and generally quiet. There weren't many amenities other than a slight breakfast with decent coffee, but I didn't expect any for this price. The hotel is a short 3-block walk from the Central Station transit center, so it's very easy to take the light rail to and from the airport - skip the cab and save $25 each way!

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
The metro light rail runs to many parts of Phoenix, including the airport, as well as Tempe. It is fast, clean, and super cheap. It stops at the Central Station transit center in downtown and from there you can get anywhere easily.

Review of Budget Hotel
The sheets and bathroom were always cleaned and my need for a microwave oven and a refrigerator with a freezer for my medicine was essential. One thing I noted was the WiFi connectivity. Despite my repeated attempts, I could not obtain WiFi connectivity. The owner tried to help me but I could not enter the password key to gain access to this encrypted WiFi connection. Other than that, my stay was what I expected; an economical hotel within walking distance to the Phoenix Convention Center. The street people and the people sleeping on the sidewalk made my night time walks back to the hotel exciting. Best Regards, Terry Kane

Good location, excellent no-frills business.
This is a no-frills hotel near the Phoenix convention center area that delivers. My stay was pleasant and the room clean with basic amenities for the business traveler. Room service was prompt and consistent, and all basic needs were met. The proprietors were courteous, helpful, and prompt. I would stay here again.

Spent one night in there during a conference and it was way better than i thought. The room was clean and king size bed was very cozy. After that, I met up with my friends and switched to Quality Inn, which was an absolutely wrong choice. The room in quality inn was more expensive (70usd/night), noisy construction site outside, water-dripping A/C inside.

Great service, comfort, well priced
The staff was wonderful making this simple, no frills, conveniently located hotel well worth the savings. Simple 8 blocks walk to the convention center, and also easy to hop on the bus to avoid the heat. If you just need a clean comfortable bed this is well worth the savings off the expensive downtown hotels.
