Convenient

Quite honestly, I was very disappointed with the size of the room, including the bed. It was maybe 5 feet wide and the bed was a twin size and against a wall...I kept hitting my elbow. I was told that the next size up has a larger bed...However, the staff was most pleasant and helpful and the hotel is a quick block to the Earl's Court tube...

a super experience

I loved being at this hotel. The location was perfect as it was a quiet spot near a garden and so easy to get to the Tube or the grocery store. I enjoyed having the kitchenette as I could eat what I wanted from the refrigerator and not have to hurry downstairs for a breakfast as in other hotels. I made use of the dinner discount vouchers offered. The room was very clean, the hotel cheerful and exhibited good taste. The staff was very helpful. I so look forward to staying there again.

Excellent Location Ideal For Families

Easy to find, just a block from Earl's court tube station (a straight shot on the Piccadilly Line from Heathrow), a great location to explore London from. We're a family of three with a 5 year old son, and the room size (deluxe) met our needs and more. We took full advantage of the discounts offered by the hotel to various local restaurants & pubs and were very impressed by each one - Loved the fish'n'chips and a tasty pint at the Pembroke! The staff were always extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. We'll definitely be back for our next London trip.

try base2stay

I couldn't have asked for a more helpful, genuinely caring or professional staff. My room was very clean and comfortable, not too big but I never expect a large space in Europe. The mini-kitchen was perfect for my needs. Short walk to tube and many restaurants. Good price for London, and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Be careful with this hotel

We arrived to learn the hotel was undergoing major renovation with workmen inside and outside. The room was relatively clean however the bed smelled musty and we had it completely changed. We also had a problem with the shower---the cold water regulator was not working consequently the shower water was too hot for comfort. We reported it and maintenance attempted a repair which we learned did not solve the problem. We were unable to take a proper shower during our entire stay. The staff was very helpful but couldn't solve the shower problem, which, of course, does not result in a favorable experience.

Convenient and comfortable

My daughter and I enjoyed two separate stays at Base2Stay Kensington in March. A great location. She was able to go running in Kensington Gardens, and I enjoyed the dog watching and walking there. And, Earl's Court tube station was a short block away. The room was small but clean and nice on our first visit, but they upgraded us on our return after a weekend outside of London, to a very large, comfortable room. Both rooms had all we needed, including a microwave, dishes and cutlery which the staff washed for us daily, and great coffee makers. And, we loved the towel warmers and generously sized towels. The internet service could be better. Though we were able to connect, it was a quite weak signal, in both rooms. They were doing renovations outside and inside the hotel, but did not start too early, and were done by 5 pm daily. If you want to sleep in late, you may be bothered by the noise until they finish the remodeling. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and we appreciated the discounted restaurant coupons, all to places that had good food and service. You can't beat the location and we enjoyed being able to buy our groceries and have our breakfast in our room I'll come back again, and recommend it to our friends.

Great little Lebanese restaurant, Orjowan, on Kenway Rd. quite near the Earl's Court underground station. Got a discount coupon from our hotel, and we shared four mezze plates for a wonderful pre - theater dinner. Fast service, good food and friendly staff.,

I spent 7 nights there and would have enjoyed staying longer. There are plenty of restaurants, pubs and grocery stores only a block away, and the tube station is also only a block away on Earl's Court Rd which gives you easy access to all of London. Having a mini-fridge, microwave, electric kettle, dishes and flatware in the room made planning my days very flexible. If I was too tired to go to a restaurant after a day of sight-seeing I would just stop at the Marks and Spencer grocery store for some prepared dishes that I could eat in my room. The staff will also give you discount vouchers for local restaurants. I particularly liked Strada, an Italian restaurant nearby.

review hotel base2stay in kensington, london, england for vacation with a friend

This hotel was located in a very good area with tube station 1.5 blocks walk. Hotel was very clean and the staff were very accomodating with help on travel and reservations etc. I would definately use them again if I were to go back to London, England. It met the requirements which I needed for my first time in London and got a fairly good price for the stay. i stayed in a single room and so did my friend. it was private for me and her and allowed us to sleep alone and meet up as we needed to do things together.

Very Helpful Staff

We stayed at Base2Stay while enjoying a 5-day getaway to London. Our room was attractive, clean but a little cramped as we added a sofa bed for our daughter. The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful to us in providing directions, recommending restaurants (with discounts), and booking tours and taxis. We were only 5 mintues from the Earl's Court Tube Station; the neigborhood including several excellent restaurants.
