Perfect base for a stay in London
The Metropolitan Hotel is centrally situated next to the Hyde Park. This is definitely a privileged part of London. One of the advantages is that the Nobu Restaurant is on the 1st. Floor offering mouth watering Japanese cuisine. The only downside was that the rooms are very simple and small. I got an upgrade, but couldn“t figure out what the upgrade was about.

I got bamboozled to upgrade
Nice hotel but when I got there, they made said my room, a standard room, wouldn't be ready till later on that day because they were fully booked. So the next thing they had available was 100 pounds ($150 +) so I paid it so I can go rest after my long flight to london. On the day of check out, at exactly 12pm ON THE DOT, the room phone rang. They needed me out because they were fully booked. Won't be staying there again.

Exceeded Expectations
The hotel staff greeted us weary travelers with smiles and helped us out in every way... The room was even better than expected... service and staff took care of every request... From beginning to end... From greeting, to wake up call, to bringing us to the room, to handling the luggage, to lovely bath items, to turn-down service with fresh water, to excellent cleaning, to heated towels, to electrical converter, to EVERY DETAIL, ETC., this hotel exceeded our expectations and provided us a very nice stay. It was walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Piicadilly, museums, shopping, good food, and much more. We would happily stay there again.... Thank you!! The building was older but well appointed, staff helpful and pleasant,....

First trip to London
We could not have picked a more perfect hotel to stay in on our first trip to London. Everything was excellent. The location was great. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with any little detail. They definitely wanted to make your stay memorable. We will definitely return to the "Met".

Short but Sweet Stay
We could not have been more pleased with our stay at The Metropolitan London, thanks to the welcoming and helpful staff and a great rate. Our room was open and spacious, with a small balcony that provided a view of Hyde Park. The bathroom was also spacious and well-appointed, with nice amenities from the hotel's spa. The location was unbeatable and a very short walk to the shops and dining in Mayfair, to Hyde Park, Underground stations, etc. Everyone we encountered at The Metropolitan was warm and courteous from the moment we entered until we left. This was true of all corners of the hotel, from the front desk to the spa to the Met bar to the concierge desk. The decor of the hotel is modern and somewhat minimalist. If you think you would prefer a more "traditional" British look and feel, you will not find it here, but The Metropolitan is far from cold and sterile. Highly recommended!
