Park Plaza Victoria London

We stayed in this hotel 04/06/2013 for 3 days. I chose this hotel based on the location and reviews, and it was great. We were right next to Victoria Station (rail and underground), Victoria Apollo Theater (wonderful), many restaurants and pubs. The room was large, very comfortable with free WiFi, electric tea pot and selection of tea and instant coffee. The beds were comfy as well. When i go to London again, i will definitely stay in this hotel again. It was very easy to get there from and to Heathrow airport ( about 1 hour including walking and purchasing tickets)and St. Pancras Station (we came from Paris by train, only 15 min) because of Victoria underground line.

The hotel itself was a in a perfect location in Central London. The check in staff was average and not too friendly. (Also, pics on website make the hotel seem larger) They mentioned (after i checked in) there is no wi fi in the rooms only downstairs. The room was a good size for one or two guests, as well as clean and smelled nice. Be sure to bring a universal charger bc the "US" outlet did not work and even then it destroyed my straightener (no outlets in bathroom are available). Room service is very expensive, there is a cafe across the street for quick service. Wi fi was not available downstairs either, not until the 3rd day i was there (call ahead of time). Also, DO NOT make calls internationally, they charged me way tooooo much for 3 calls.

Everything was awesome my wife and I were very close to victoria station and were able to get around even on new years. Was completely satisfied with everthing hotel had to offer.

* Excellent location * The staff is fairly untrained, unknowledgeable, and try cross-selling stuff to you. (Examples: they did not know the taxi cost to Heathrow saying 60 pounds "will definitely" cover it when it didn't. They marked the wrong place on our map for our restaurant.) * The rooms are very nice looking, but a bit shabby craftsmanship. (Examples: Loose soap dish ; water sprays into the bathroom ; sink doesn't drain fast enough) Overall - These are relatively minor complaints and we had a great time in London.

We booked this hotel based on the reader reviews of location, convenience, the name etc, but we wish we did more research. The hotel is in a seedy neighborhood, surrounded by busy streets on all sides, very noisy, no amenities what so ever and very unfriendly staff. We had great experiences in comparably priced other hotels in London with great experiences, it is puzzling to see a well known hotel like this one fail so badly in all counts. It basically ruined our vacation.

When we checked in we brought 1 additional guest more than originally booked. Checked in at 10PM and they were going to bring up a rollaway bed. By 11PM no bed had arrived. I called and they said they were going to send one up. By 11:20 still no bed and called again. By 11:30 I called and cancelled the bed as my daughter and her husband were going to try to sleep on the twin bed. He ended sleeping part of the night on the floor. We did have a extra bed for the second night.

Nice Location, Super Bedding, Nice Rooms, Good Breakfast- It is 2 city blocks south of the victoria station. So, plan on a 2 block walk. Its easy though.

Great location close to Victoria Station. Breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant were excellent. Room had everything you could need.

Great hotel close to Victoria Station. We have stayed in London several times and our hotels were generally disappointing. This one is very good. Great access to visit London.
