- Area description
- Located at 34 Lombard Road, Battersea, on the south bank of the River Thames, adjacent to the London Heliport, the hotel may have a tranquil waterside location, but you don't have to go far to experience bustling city life and urban amenities. Battersea Park, with its contemporary gallery, is just a short walk along the riverside, and nearby Battersea Rise and Battersea Square boasts a broad variety of eateries, cafes, markets and shops. Rafayel is proud of its spot in Battersea, the so-called "weak link," which it arguably is not. It is a little-known secret but the tube, Clapham Common, is only 7-8 minutes away through free shuttle service. You can then take a direct connection to Leicester Square, Charing Cross, and Tottenham Court Road where you can get the central line to Bond Street, Bank, Moorgate or Barbican.

Shame about the sheets
I stayed at the hotel and on the first night the sheets were dirty and so were most the of the changes they brought up. Not really what you expect from a 5 star hotel but I would of let them off if it wasn't for the dirty towel change the next day. They apologised a lot while I was there and offered me free breakfast and parking, which was a fair bit but the breakfast was too continental for me (a bit sparse). What really annoyed me was that the hotel badgered me after my stay to take down the accurate review I put up. I know rankings are important but so are clean sheets.

Reasonable value
Booked into this hotel based on the ratings. Shame about the location and although paid for river view would not have spent the extra £60 for a ropey view of the Thames! That being said the room was clean but you need a masters degree in engineering to work out the shower!

Needs that special something
It is not well located. Needs attention to detail. Had to ask staff to make any calls. There is a heliport next door. The hotel only has rooms for rent on the 1st and 2nd floors. They did accomate us in an appartment on the 6th floor. It was decent but the washer machine locked up with my wife's clothe's inside and they were soaked and stained. spent last night triying to dry them.

Einmal gesehen, zufrieden, thats it.

voll in Ordnung
