Comfortable and convenient

My one bedroom apartment was small but adequate and comfortable. My view towards the courtyard not the best. The staff friendly and helpful. Most serious problem was the duvet which was much too warm and there was no alternative such as sheets and a variety of blankets. Otherwise I cannot find any fault. I was there two weeks and happy as could be. I especially loved the variety of restaurants and takeaways in the neighborhood, every kind of shop and two good undergrounds lines.

Great hotel

The staff are friendly and very courteous. We arrived early and they allowed us to leave our bags while we went shopping in the nearby mall. The room was surprisingly large compared to other places. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was squeaky clean. We always had clean linens. In fact, the whole place was clean. The staff were very helpful wrt tour and travel information; they provide loads of brochures and maps for free and are happy to share more information. The continental breakfast was amazing. I've heard a lot of negative reviews about English food but wow- they served a wonderful breakfast in a beautiful setting. If you prefer make your own meal the kitchenette is stocked with a microwave, mini-fridge, and sink. The location is really really great. Bayswater Station is nearby. Whiteley's Centre is nearby and in there you'll find an M&S, Cinema, and loads of shopping and food options. There are nearby pharmacies and doctors' offices, and there's a street dedicated to food on one side, and clothing and souvenirs on the other. Another thing is that we are from the Caribbean so our electrical outlets are different. They provided adapters for use free of charge. All those things helped make our stay wonderful and quite comfortable. My one gripe is the laundry policy. My mom lost her laundry chit and would not have gotten back her clothes had we not found it back. One suggestion is to maybe take ID information as well just in case a customer loses the chit. This hotel was worth every cent and I'd definitely return- hopefully sooner than later.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Apart from Whiteley's with its popular and trendy stores, there's a shoe store run by Romanians with very high quality shoes at very affordable prices. Just exit the hotel, turn left towards Whiteley's, turn right (cross the road) and continue walking down. It's just before the Office shoe store (which has really good stuff as well) which is before the train station.

Yes, great location and some very great staff

First night not so good, but Isma at reception followed through with initiative and fixed it wonderfully with a much better room at the same price. She called us....we did not have to nag. Wonderful location, and upper floors are sufficiently quiet.....reasonable value.

Go to the pond/fountain at the Lancaster Gate entrance to Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park. It is a very pleasant place to see ducks and a swan, happy children, and interesting, helpful people.

First Time at the Grand Plaza

I booked the Grand Plaza simply as it was cheap in comparison to others hotels and serviced apartments offered. I paid £120 for one night whereas my usual places were wanting double. Staff were very helpful and cheerful, the apartments are great, mine was small, however it was clean and ideal for my stay and much bigger than a normal hotel room with separate bedroom / bath and shower wc / kitchen and lounge The apartments have been formed out of some old houses and whilst it's a bit of a rabbit warren, it's quirky and all in a all a pleasant place to stay

Very Good Location!

Since there were three of us it was important to have a little more space. We really liked having the kitchen and the recently updated bathroom was excellent. We were close enough to the underground and we did everything on our Tourist List for a first-timer. We would come back.

Comfortable spacious hotel convenient to the city center

Their is a lot of space for good value compared to other places in the city. The neighborhood is very quiet and the nearest tube station is just four blocks away. The staff was very nice as well. As Americans we missed ice machines, but the staff was happy to bring it to us. We were also glad that they provided us with coffee each day. We would definitely return.
