Dining
- Restaurant
- The elegant Crompton's restaurant is offering a delicious varied menu for any budget. Alternatively Jenny's bar and the Pizzeria have a wide range of Italian and Carvery dishes which are excellent value. The Conservatory Bar is ideal for that meeting place and has excellent views over the waterside.

I enjoyed my stay at your hotel very much. Would definately consider staying there again. A Little far out of town and getting to and from the DLR with suitcses was not easy. A very nice, but dating hotel, helpful staff. And a reasonable price. Happy Customer

Docklands central
This hotel can be had as a real bargain (for London...) and don't be fooled about it being out of the city - it's 3 stops on the Jubilee line to Borough Market and just a few more over to the north bank. To get here from Canary Wharf tube station, go up the never-ending escalators, turn left, head for the shortest glass building in front of you. Go right through this and you'll see a bridge on the other side, cross this (you can see the hotel on your right from the bridge) then turn right along the edge of the wharf. You'll soon see an alley on your left, go down this then bear right under the DLR tracks and you'll come to Marsh Wall, the hotel is 2 minutes further on - the whole walk is 5 minutes or less. It's a bit of a "mutton dressed as lamb" place in that the rooms try and appear posher than they are, but (in my room) everything worked OK, the view was pretty good and bed comfy.

Kernel Brewery - open Saturdays at nearby Bermondsey, google it and get along there 09:00-15:00 for some of the best beer in London straight from the brewer himself if you're lucky.

Easy to get around London from
Hotel itself was good, food was keenly priced. Very central location and close to the Tube station. Bed was very hard, I inquired at reception about getting a room with a softer bed, but was told that the bed was new as were all the beds in the hotel, so moving us was not an option. We didn't sleep very well for the three nights unfortunately, but other than that, no complaints.

Great value, but !
Stayed 4 nights at the Brittania ,last minute booking for a show at Excel.Location and setting are great. Convenience store across the street to the left, great Pub to the right,3 Brilliant Indian Restaurants on Westferry Road, Cliftons was my fav, great Chicken Dansak for 6 pounds!,5 mins walk,3 mins walk to South Quay DLR stn, more shops,Subway,Tesco etc,10 mins drive to Excel, all good stuff. The hotel has some good points but some annoying issues which could easily be resolved. The entrance looks grand but reminds me of a hotel I once stayed in Bangkok.Lots of brass and wood, fake crown moldings and chintz galore. I am not really sure what theme/look the hotel was going for so it just decided to go with a bit of everything,Edwardian,Victorian mixed with some Asian inspired art and cheap reproduction furniture. The is carried through to the room.Nice size, clean with newer TV,but cheap furnishings and decor,Its all a bit tired but acceptable for the price. My 4 night stay was 30% less than at most other area hotels so acceptable. Negatives are shower has a tendency to go from warm,to hot to luke warm although the water pressure was good.Food was reasonably priced but there are good restaurants within walking distance.Parking was 21 pounds/$36 a day/night which even by London Prices is high. However from 5.30 on Friday thru Monday at 8.30 you can park for FREE on a single yellow line or pay a display.turn left out of the hotel and the road is the third on the right.I saved 63 pounds/$100 by doing this and it paid for some nice meals.I did'nt get to the pool or health club but understood it was quite nice. There is a nominal charge of 5 pounds which seemed fair. The rear of the hotel backs to the dock and would have been lovely to sit out in the summer. The bar was open till very late and very reasonably priced. The hotel was lively and well located ,it could do with a refurbishment but I suppose then they would increase the room prices,Its not the Ritz but great value for a London Hotel I would stay there again.

Fantastic getaway
The hotel was lovely, clean and well put together. The staff was not friendly or helpful.I had to ask about everything. It would make things much easier if at the point of check in they gave you a brochures of the hotel with information to make your stay more comfortable.I also found it less enjoyable when you have to pay to use the pool or fitness center. The cleaning services was wonderful.Overall the hotel is beautiful.Comparing to other hotel I stay in. The Customer service was poor.I did not feel value.

Good Location
All extra amenities at the hotel (pool, spa, exercise room, etc.)cost extra. They did not provide face towels--hand & bath only. The fantastic views are definitely not from all rooms.

The Thames River cruise captures the history and sights very well. I took it from the docklands and got off at Westminster Bridge, toured the Westminster area and took the subway back. Great

overpriced for the room you get:
overpriced for the room you get: I got a very small one which needs a refurbishment; the flush in the toilet was not working and the drain in the bath tub was enarly stopped up; for the price they charge should be much better

don't expect too much
The hotel lost our reservation so we had to wait 1/2 hour in the lobby while it was settled. No apology. Asked for a wake up call at 4am, never got it until the next day when we wanted to sleep in and then got a 4am wake up call. Some very nice staff, but some very rude people work at this hotel.

Think again
If you are thinking of staying in the Britannia International Hotel, Canary Wharf, London I would advise you to think again. There isn't anything to recommend this hotel, except its location to Canary Wharf. The staff are curt, uncooperative and unhelpful, with far too many trainees. The rooms are below average for this standard of hotel, and both rooms that we occupied during our stay had noisy air-conditioning units. We only eat at the hotel once, for breakfast, which provided a lack of choice and greasy food. And if you have a complaint be prepared to make a nuisance of yourself and persistent to ensure that the fault is corrected to your satisfaction.
