Good to pretty good

This hotel is excellently situated on the seafront. The staff are friendly and the general ambience in the lobby and bar areas is comfortable and pleasant. The decor is slightly dated. The value is good especially when discounted. My gripe is that wifi is not included. But overall a good choice in Brighton except for the wifi

Excellent short break

This hotel was very clean, very efficient and the staff very friendly. What more can you ask. Brighton is expensive so the hotel prices reflected local bars and restaurants. Good for a short break.

Excellent Hotel & Location

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location on the beachfront and a 5 minute walk from the pier. Comfortable king size bed provided in the standard double room. Nice powerful shower with bathtub. Good breakfast! Perfect for both couples and families. Chintzy bathroom decor is the only negative I can think of, but then seaside decor tends to be chintzy anyway. Keep it up Brighton Thistle!

BRIGHTON MARATHON

Whilst the room provided was not exactly big it did the job. The Brighton Marathon brings 15,000 competitors and their families into the area. The Thistle was heavily booked on the Sunday and Monday by runners. The hotel provided access to the Spa for runners to shower after the race and assisted with baggage holding, which is a nice touch. However, the booking of a Wedding Reception the night before the Marathon with a loud Disco until 1-1.30am is not very thoughtful at all. Too big to care and big enough that they need the income. I would check before you book in for next year.

Family short break

Location excellent, staff very friendly. Breakfast good. Parking costs are far to high (council run). The hotel discount for car parking is not enough.

Great hotel

Stayed here for only one night on our anniversary - wish we had stayed longer. Facilities in the hotel were good - well equipped gym, small family pool, quiet restaurant and bar...Hotel staff were super helpful. Within walking distance of bars, restaurants, shops - we parked our car in the car park and walked everywhere. Only draw back was having to pay £20 for parking - it would have been nice to have it included in the price of the room!

The room was too old

The room needed for a renew. Everything in the room was old. The TV could barely sensor the remote control. Only 1 set of shampoo and bath gel was provided in a double room, and the bottles were very small. We had shower twice and it ran out. The air conditioning was VERY LOUD, we had to switch it off to sleep properly. Location was pretty good and staff was friendly.
