K- Porte Inn Hotel

Although I only use the Hotel as a stop over between flight connections, I like to enjoy the ammenities the hotel would offer during my stay, not many available at the time I arrived/departed other than a loud restaurant/night club (opened till three AM and the patrons are mostly locals looking for a good time) not necessarily a relaxed atmosfere. The staff was very friendly and courteous, however the facilities looked unkept around the lobby, restaurant, etc. Just didn't feel comfortable. I have enjoyed my stay at most all other hotels I stayed in so far in Dubai; this one does not measure up to the 3 start rating it has.

Customer Service Staff was not very friendly. The door man and maid were the only friendly people there. The Night Club was not a night club but a dancing girl show. The continential breakfast left a lot to be desired.

Relaxed, easy, comfortable, and convenient.

From the argumentative desk staff to the hookers out front, our stay was tolerable mainly because we didn't spend much time in our room. The desk staff seemed to view it as a personal victory every time they were able to nickel and dime us for any kind of "service." The room was dim and dingy, though the bathroom was clean. We had to request a second towel (these are apparently valuable commodities that can't be given out willy-nilly to just any guest). There are no wash cloths. And when we requested a couple of extra pillows, we were given only one. Any and all noises from the hallway and the street were easily audible. It was close (easy 1-2 block walk) to a large number of restaurants, grocery stores, a mall, etc. It was also convenient to the airport, the old souq, and other tourist attractions.
