The Hotel Adler is a charming three-star hotel situated in the Niederdorf area of Zurich. The Niederdorf in Zurich's lively Old Town is the ideal base for a pleasurable city holiday or a business trip. Each of the Hotel Adler's 52 rooms has a wall painting by the artist Heinz Blum depicting an interesting corner of Zurich for you to discover The Hotel Adler has been welcoming guests to the heart of Zurich since the 14th century. Over the years, the hotel has undergone rebuilding and renovation to accommodate modern expectations, but without concealing its long history. We welcome you to the house in which the Swiss artist Rudolf Koller, a famous animal and landscape painter, spent his childhood.

Excellent location

This hotel is right in the heart of the old city area and convenient to everything. We were able to walk from the train station to the hotel in about 10 mins saving us from taking a cab. We only stayed 1 night, but wish we could have stayed longer. The restaurant attached to the hotel is nice, but expensive for what it was in my opinion.

Wonderful location

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Hotel Adler this past weekend. The location in the heart of Old Zurich is perfect for walking around the city and is very close to the rail station. The hotel is small but charming. Our room (a jr. deluxe suite) on the second floor overlooked the street below. There was some noise from the busy street on Friday and Saturday nights, so if that bothers you, ask for a high room or one that doesn't overlook the street. Also, some of the cigarette smoke drifted into our room when our balcony door was open. The staff was very helpful and responsive to our needs. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Adler, a quaint hotel in a beautiful city.

great value; great location!

I love the Adler. The location is perfect - 10 min walk from the main train station. Clean, up-to-date rooms. GREAT neighborhood full of fun shops, bars, restaurants that are open late. Everything is close and easy. The staff is great. HIGHLY recommended ...

For my sister's wedding

Centrally located in old town, very convenient to everywhere I wanted to go. The rooms are just beautiful and the service is excellent. Breakfast is served in their lovely dining room and is also quite good. The staff are courteous, helpful and friendly. My only gripe is their wireless internet. Even though the internet ad said that wireless internet service was included, it mostly was not. There was some problem with the server I was told. They also tried to charge me for internet service by saying that the free one was too slow. I opted to use the free one anyway, and then a charge showed up on my bill. When I told them to take the charge off, they did so without arguing.

Time-saving tip: In Hotel

For running around the area, ride the train. Buy your train tickets at the hotel. The people at the hotel will explain it much better than the plackards at the train station.

Great Location, Comfortable and Clean

The single room was quite small, but was nevertheless extremely clean and comfortable, as was the hotel as a whole. The location, in the old town one short block from the river, is excellent, and a short 5-7 min walk from the main train station. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Situated in the middle of the old Town of Zurich, this hotel is 5 min walk away from central station and has all amendities you'd need for a short stay. On-site restaurant is also highly recommeded.

Charming, well-located hotel

Small but comfortable room. Good location in the old town (though the part of the old town across the river seemed more interesting), a short walk from the Limmat River and a quick tram ride away from the main railway station. Charming hotel--there's a table under the skylight on the first floor. Nice buffet breakfast with a good variety of cold cuts, cheeses, breads, cereals, fruits, and drinks. Friendly staff.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Take a short tram ride down the Limmatquai to the corner of Ramistrasse and eat at the Kronenhalle, a well-known restaurant with literary and artistic connections. The most popular dish is Zurich-style veal with rosti, plated in two servings at your table. If you are lucky, you can be seated at James Joyce's favorite table.
