Holiday Inn THOIRY - GENEVA AIRPORT

It is a nice hotel. Very convenient if you need to use Geneva airport, but The hotel dones not include free internet.

I had a great stay. Roomy and clean. Less than 20 minutes from the Geneva airport. After being in Geneva for nearly two weeks I decided to stay at a place where there was a free shuttle and avoid having to catch an (expensive) cab from downtown. My only disappointment was that I had to wait nearly an hour and a half (!) for a shuttle from the airport. They advertise a free shuttle but do not have a regular run.

Overall, a good experience. Shuutle service problems highlighted earlier by visitors exaggerated if one knows how to manage time. Either way, 12 minutes drive and shuttle service well organised. Good and efficient staff.

We used this hotel as a base while in Geneva following a trip through Chamonix and Northern Italy. This hotel is located outside of the city in a very quiet, country area not far from GVA. The hotel had spacious, quiet, clean rooms. The service levels were very high with polite and helpful front desk workers. While there is a shuttle to the airport from the hotel (free -- very nice), a car is essential to get around the area. And what do you know, this class airport hotel offers free parking. I would recommend to anyone!

I did enjoy my stay at this hotel. I was there two nights just for the room, and I did not use the restaurant, or bar. The room itself was nice size and clean. I will have to state the noise in the hallways is loud. You can hear anyone walking or talking as they walk past your room. The best part of the stay was meeting shuttle driver and receptionist Frederic. On the shuttle drive to the hotel he was very helpful with sound advice, and things to do. When he was at the front desk working he was helpful in getting our questions answered. The best advice I could give someone staying there is to be VERY DETAILED with your questions. When they tell you the shuttle will run on the top of every hour to the airport, that does not mean an automatic run. It means it will run at the top of the hour if you call for it. Be very detailed and ask follow up questions to make sure you and the hotel staff are on the same page. The hotel will require you to pay in euro,and not CHF. Their exchange rate is not good. Schedule your flights so you can use their shuttle, because taxi fares are very high for such a short distance.

I had prepaid for 3 people in one room and they charged me an extra 15 Euros per day for the "rollaway". They did not add anthing to the room. The bed/couch was already there. I was upset to have the extra chanrge. [...]Beware.......The guy at the front desk was a little pompas, and I speak the language, so that wasn't the problem. Just his demeanor. Maybe it was personal feeling.

The hotel is located quite far from the city center - 20 minutes by car, however, the good point was that the hotel shuttle bus could collect you from and deliver to airport at any time for free.
