Petit Palace Posada Del Peine City Inn Madrid

Just a few seconds walk from Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, this hotel is right in the middle of it all. Despite receiving a smoking room, there was no bad smell and the room was very clean. The breakfast every morning was nice and reasonably priced.

This hotel could not be better located for a tourist - easy walking distance to prime tourist attractions, shopping, transportation hubs, and restaurants. Amenities left something to be desired - small rooms with high ceilings, very firm mattress's(no box spring), carpet needed a good cleaning and limited plastic furniture - hotel is advertised as high tech - laptop and very modern designed bathroom features. Breakfast buffet was a good deal at $11.00 for well prepared food - we had a huge breakfast and skipped lunch. For the traveler interested in room comfort and ambiance I do not recommend this hotel - for the traveler on a budget who's wants to be in the center of the old city, the location could not be better - young travelers will appreciate it more than older travelers. This is not a 4 star facility.

Staff was extremely helpful, location is fantastic, very central next to Plaxa Mayor and walking distance to Palace, Musuem, Gran Via, La Latine area. Hotel is well kept and Boutique-like with modern facilities. Great value for dollar and keeps away from hectic Gran Via street where many people stay in hotels

Although I at first was concerned because the hotel is on a very busy pedestrian street (and, let's face it, Spain rocks more at night than in the morning), I was pleasantly surprised that the noise from the street was not a problem as the windows seal off the sounds from the crowds on the streets below the hotel. You are definitely in a great location and close to a metro station, with great dining in the Plaza Mayor practically next to the hotel. There's also a good tapas/pinchos bar with inexpensive beers next to the hotel.

Just around the corner from Plaza Mayor and a very short walk to Plaza Sol, in the heart of it all! The actually room was small but well done. More timid travelers may not like to frosted glass doors for the bathroom, ours was really a room for couples. Staff was great and the price was good. Having a room with a computer was a very nice touch that I had never had in a hotel before. Even though our room was on the first floor, they windows are excellent at keeping the noise out and the street behind the hotel was usually very quiet.

Location very good in the 'La Latina' area, just off the Plaza Mayor. Rooms small but contain everything you need for a busy city trip - comfortable bed, pretty decent shower, free use of laptop & internet during stay. Our room had a small window with no view other than the external walls of the hotel which meant the room was very quiet given the busy location. Others in the group had rooms overlooking the street with a small balcony which were a little noisy but this was to be expected given the location. Extremely pleasant front desk staff who were very helpful regarding organising taxis, holding luggage etc.

Very good hotel, excellently located in the hart of Madrid, on a walking distance to all major museums, and surrounded by many many restaurants. Proffessional, pleasant, and very helpful staff. WI-FI connections, and laptops in every room. For additional price, an excellent breakfast buffet is offered. Rooms are pretty small, but still ok.

This is a nice, funky hotel with a fantastic central Madrid location. The staff was friendly and the room was clean, if small. It had a great shower with one of those great body massage sprays - very nice after a night of walking around Madrid. I didn't eat at the hotel because there are so many places around, but they do offer breakfast. Wifi was free, but slow - the wired Ethernet was much faster. No ironing board, but laundry service was offered. Only complaint was that the bed was very firm and the pillows were pretty flat, but ok when folded in half.

Great hotel in the best location in madrid. Very friendly staff who were very helpful. The rooms were large for a major European city and very clean. Great shower!
