Hotel was quiet, modern, clean, cheerful. Some staff spoke English clearly; if not they got someone who did. Lobby had WIFI and several nice places to sit quietly and privately to use it. Easy check-in and check-out. Original reservation made from USA had arrival date error; booking company sent fax to correct; however at our arrival, hotel had no record of this change. Staff checked with booking company and honored change with no problem. Close to Atocha Metro & bus lines, (and Renfe longer distance trains & Airport connection). Prado Museum, Sofia Reina Museum, 5 minute walk; Plaza del Sol 10 minute Metro. Good jogging park across street. Very good value. Weather in December was cloudy & cold: 50 F.

Just a few blocks from Atocha train Station. There is also a direct bus going from this train station to the airport. This hotel is a very good option if you travel with lots of luggage and don't want to carry all that luggage in metro stations. The rooms were fine. A little bit small. The bath room was fine.

This hotel was just right for us. We wanted to be close to downtown but in a quiet place. We loved being able to walk to El Prado and the botanical gardens. The staff members that we met (reception and housekeeping) were all helpful and friendly.

10 minute walk from the train station, 5 minute walk to Reina Sofia Museum, 15 to El Prado......you could not ask for a better location. Great Asian restaurants in the area too.

Unfriendly staff gave us a stinky room ( smoking room) without evev asking for the preferences. We managed to change to a cleaner/ fresher one. The room was still stuffy, the bathroom was not very fresh, the AC did not work well, and there was no easy wifi connection. Since Madrid, as a big city, is noisy at night, opening the window for fresh air was not an option. I do not recommend this hotel. Its proximity to the Botanical Gardens, the train station, and the Museums is its only selling point, but I would rather walk longer distances than staying there again. How can it be graded four stars?

The place was clean, the staff was helpful, and the accommodations were comfortable at the NH Nacional Hotel . At the discounted price, it was a good value.

Reception was very good and room was a bit noisy because of the location. However room could have been better dusted. Would go there again next time.

The staff were polite .And the room was available and ready upon my arrival.As I expected the room was very clean and room temperature was comfortable.The breakfast buffet was good,only I did not see any variety during the 5 days I spent in the hotel.But what really matter was the location of the hotel - as you get out of the hotel,the bus stop is right there not to say that some of the tourist attractions are within walking distance,and the hotel is surrounded by Spanish restaurants.

This hotel is located in the downtown, full of restaurant, fasten food, bars, pubs and Spanish train station just 300 meters away, and El Prado Museum is within walking distance. In late night this area crows heaps of young students and music will accompany your dream until the early morning. Specially recommend Phuket Thai restaurant on the back of the hotel provides really home-style Thai food. As the chain hotel of NH Co., NH Nacional follows the NH way in design、service and management.

Desk staff was multi-lingual- and remembered My wake-up request. Location is excellent if you have Atocha metro/rail stops. However, Wi-fi grossly overpriced and 2 tiny elevators so slow you'll start walking down. Overall, a quality spot if you pack light and are Wired-in already.
