Barcelona Novotel
[...]I was told that the hotel is downtown close to "hop-on-bus" The Novotel he booked was so far from the bus that it would take 30 min on the train to reach it.The hotel manager refused to change the room reservation to another hotel within the same network but in the city; I had to call [...] from the hotel, spend almost 1 hour on the phone until [...] changed the booking to another Novotel Barcelona City. The hotel is new, the Barcelona bus is near, but it is still very far from the downtown, almost 30 min on the bus.In addition to all the problems, I was charged dobble for the same night in the hotel (by [...] and by the hotel itself) Then I had to call [...] again to request the credit. Overall the trip was completely spoiled,

Barcelona hop on bus is helpful, but it runs in only one direction in each of 2 lines (like in circle); it takes at least 2 hours to complete the circle; there is no way to return unless you walk quite a long distance

The experience at the hotel was ok... They only give you three days of wifi at a time, and forgot to wake me up at 530 in the day that I was leaving. They did recommend me a place to eat which was good, but they then recommended a horrible tapas place called "tapas locas" where the service was horrible.

Take the Barcelona bus tour where you will be able to travel the whole city, see all the sites, for the fraction of the cost.

can't be trusted
i stayed in ths hotel for 3 nights and had specifically asked for the mini bar to be emptied, which d staff did immediately, only after which, we entered the room since they had emptied the mini bar, they did not take any security money also. bt aftr we checked out, they sent bill for the minibar,that which they had emptied. we were shocked to get the bill. we had thought its a reputed hotel, and had stayed in other novotel hotels, we nvr had faced this kind of problem. on all the 4 days there, we cud not access d pool, hammam ,sauna or the gym. its all farce, what they promise.

Super World Travelor
Novotel, Barcelonna, 119 Avandura.
The hotel was nice, but the location was awfull. The hotel is located next to the Water Building, which is and very dirty, smelly and crime prone area. Why build a new hotel there is beyond my understanding. It is rated 4 stars, but does not offer shuttle services to the airport nor the docks, if you are cruising. The breakfast was ridiculously price, 20 Euros, about $30.00 per person. We were on the 11th flor but had a view of the office building next door. At $120.00 a night, I sure won't recommend it to anyone. Do NOT ask for American Coffee unless you like double expresso....keeps you awake for a week...lol

Short walk from hotel
Sign up and get tickets for the self touring bus. It stops a every major sites in Bacelona. you get a ticket for the day and can hop on and off anytime you want throught the day. If you like to walk, everything is within 30 to 35 minute walk from the center of town. You also can take buses or trams for around 1 Euro, but do not expect to get a seat are they are made for standing mostly with couples of seats reserved for the elderly. If you want to see something diferent, visit the Xochlate Museum (XM). They are all kinds of chocolate carving, including "The Pieta",Don Quiote and Louis Amstrong, to name of few. Its small but very enteresting. Barcelona has several beautiful Parks.
