Hesperia Ramblas Hotel Barcelona

Take a right out of the front door and you're half a block from the Bocqueria, one of the largest, lushest open markets in Europe. Take a left and you're half a block from La Rambla, Barcelona's famous street and the Liceu Metro stop. The hotel breakfast is excellent with a wide assortment of breads, coffees, fruit, etc. The room was small but comfortable. We didn't spend much time there, so it was perfect.

The room was adequate but overpriced. The staff was not friendly or accomodating. I would not stay here again. Barcelona is a huge city with any number of hotel choices. Do your research before selecting a hotel.

An excellent location right by the covered market (great for getting breakfast or food at almost any time of day) and just a few yards along from la ramblas - but enough of a distance not to be disturbed by its traffic. The hotel was very clean and tidy and the room comfortable with good air conditioning which was fully adjustable. Breakfast was really good and great value. The staff were extremely friendly too and, having stayed at a pricier hotel two years previously in the same location, we would recommend this one with little hesitation.

This hotel was fine but not much more than that. A clean, reasonably comfortable room, but a bit chilly and stark in atmosphere. Bathroom fittings beginning to show wear: shower door not closing properly, shower difficult to set in position. Staff polite but little warmth. Good location but not enough to go back.

the hotel is just off the Ramblas, the major street in that area. near several shops, cafes and the local market which was nice. the unfortunate thing is that the smell of garbage or fish permeates the road adjacent to the hotel that leads tothe market. also, you have to ring a bell to be let into the hotel so if someone isn't at the desk to open the door, you may be waiting outside for awhile, which is a little annoying. rooms are clean, shower is good. bathroom in general is a good size. Just be aware there is no lock on the door so i you plan to share and you need that kind of privacy, you won't get it here. also, the 2 separate bed option is really 2 twin beds pushed together, which is really 1 bed, so keep that in mind. the beds are also very firm, and the pillows very soft. large window in the room so you can get fresh. air, but the street can be noisy. the closed window blocks the noise well. free WiFi is plus, however you have to log into i everytime you use it which is a bit annoying. also, watch your wallets when walking the Ramblas. you will see people playing games for a small bet, or trying to sell knick knacks. don't play or buy. they wil try to cheat or steal from you. all in all, good for a short stay and to experience the Ramblas and nearby shops. within walking distance of a number of squares, the Picasso museum and the tour buses. would recommend if the above issues aren't a problem

This hotel is in a perfect location for walking the city with plenty nearby to see and visit, also near to a Metro station. We arrived at about 9.30am from a cruise boat and the room was available straight away. Very clean and minimal, and the bed was very comfortable. We had a back room with no view but it was very quiet, which suited us. We will certainly stay there again in September when we go back to Spain for a longer stay.

My friend and I booked this hotel for five nights and had a great time staying there. The location is just of La Ramblas, close to the Liceu metro station, and a 2 minute walk to the Boqueria market where we could get fresh juice and pastries every morning. The hotel staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Even though my friend and I spoke Spanish with the hotel staff, everyone there knows and understands English. The room was very clean and spacious. When entering the hotel, you have to buzz to get into the hotel, which makes you feel very safe. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely stay there again.

For a quick stay in Barcelona I recommend the Hesperia Ramblas Hotel. Great location, fairly quite and helpful staff.

Blink and you might miss this find off of Hospital near Ramblas. We arrived in Barcelona via the airport shuttle to Placa Catalunya and had a quick 10-15 min. walk down Las Ramblas to the hotel. It’s quite easy to find – at the Liceau Metro station turn right and the hotel is on your right before the first street. The hotel buzzes you through the front door. The location was IDEAL – so close to Ramblas and La Bouqueria Market. We had breakfast every morning in the market and also had lunch there (Kiosko Universal) that we’d recommend. The location was also great for walking to most of Barcelona’s sights. We rarely took the Metro! As far as the hotel, we had room 407. I will echo previous comments that the hallway rug tiles were filthy, but as I was not walking barefoot on them it was only really an eyesore. The room was similar to NH rooms we’ve stayed in – faux wood floors, contemporary furnishings. We had two twins pushed together. The tv only had one English channel – BBC News. There was a mini-bar, closet and desk. The mini-bar had enough room for our own drinks to chill. The room and bathroom were large by Euro standards. The bathroom had no towel rack for hand towels or tissues – just minor oversights on their part? We enjoyed the free wifi. We saw the breakfast room every morning but we weren’t sure if it was included/free so we never attempted it. If it is free, they need to do a better job of letting guests know either at check-in, in the room or with signage. All in all, the location can’t be beat and we enjoyed our stay.
