HCC Saint Moritz Hotel Barcelona

We arrived very late due -- 1:00 AM -- but were greeted with smiles from the friendly front desk agent. She was quite helpful and even had the bellman bring a cold soda up to the room for my thirsty wife. The location, in the Eixample District, is perfect. The hotel is on a side street (it's quieter), just a half-block from Passeig de Gracia, a wide, fashionable street full of great places to eat, drink, and shop. It's another block to the major cross-street, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes. Metro stations are at this intersection so you can get almost anywhere in the city by starting with a 1½ block walk. Las Ramblas (kind of a mixture of L.A.'s Olvera Street, Venice Beach, and Universal Citywalk) has loads of tourist gift shops, street performers, gelato stands, and the like. It's just a few blocks from the above-mentioned intersection. Beware of pickpockets here, though! You can continue to walk down Las Ramblas all the way to the port. It's an easy walk, too. More about the hotel... The room we had, while not huge or comparable to American hotels, was quite comfortable. The bathroom had nice modern fixtures and a full tub with shower. I am 6' 6" and was glad that there was no tiny shower stall here! Shampoo and body soap are provided -- good thing, since airport security took my shampoo away! The lobby is very classy and inviting. The polished marble floors and sweeping staircase evoke a cool, relaxing feeling. While this building dates to 1883, you won't think you're in an "old hotel" ... it's very nicely decorated and modern inside. If you want a nice streetside lunch, go out the lobby doors, turn left and at the corner, turn left again and you'll be at "Divinus." If you want the best Tapas in town, walk just two more blocks to "Ciudad Condal" at Rambla de Catalunya, 18. EXCELLENTE! Bottom line: not the Meridien, but very nice hotel in the perfect location!

This hotel met all of my criteria: convenient location, updated rooms, and most of all, quiet. It was clean, modern with touches of elegance. Size of the room was just right, with a couple of chairs to sit in other than just at the desk. The front desk staff was efficient and helpful. My wife's suitcase was lost by the airline and the front desk went out of their way to help keep in contact with the luggage search. To get to the hotel from the airport (fast and inexpensive), just take the aerobus to Plaza Catalunya (last top), and the hotel is a short 10 minute walk from there. There are many restaurants right around the hotel. Unless you need champagne for breakfast, don't pay the 20 euros they charge; just go to a cafe nearby.

wir erlebten 4 interessante Tage in Barcelona, ausgehend von der idealen Lage des Hotels in Fussgängerdistanz der Altstadt. Das Restaurant bot am Abend ein gutes Menu an, die Stimmung war etwas lau da kaum Gäste da waren (Nebensaison).

Guter Standort um die Stadt zu erkunden. Alles sehr sauber.

Das Hotel zeichnet sich durch sein excellente Lage aus. Die Rampla, die Haupt-Einkaufs und - Flaniermeile ist nur einen Häuserblock entfernt. Negativ ist mir der leicht unangnehme Geruch in unserem Zimmer un die mit 20,00€ sehr hohen Preise für das Frühstück aufgefallen. Sonst war das Hotel gutes Mittelmaß.

フロントの方がとても親切でした。日本が話せる方が１名おり、郊外の観光地の行き方など調べてくれて助かりました。 ホテルの立地もよく、買い物、観光にとても便利です。

朝食なしで泊まったのですが、追加で頼んだ朝食が高すぎです！ ただ、カタルーニャ広場からも近く、外見とは異なり内装は綺麗でした。

La atención es muy buena y la ubicación del hotel excelente. Permite ir facilmente a la Plaza de Catalunya y a las Ramblas y tiene buena comunicación para ir a lugares imperdibles como el puerto y las playas. Es un lugar para volver! Las habitaciones son comodas si bien no todas tienen una buena iluminación (en nuestro caso nos tocó una interna). Por el mismo precio se puede acceder a una mejor.
