EXE Laietana Palace

Great location, great staff. Accommodated us beautifully, helpful with everything. We had two rooms and one was along the front and very quiet. One in the back overlooking the square..not so quiet. Near the elevators. It was just a location sort of thing. Hotel is elegant if somewhat tired in decoration.

My wife and I, spent 5 days in this hotel and the only good thing about this hotel was the location. Couple of steps away from the metro station which helps you to go anywhere you want. I have no idea about the sizes of other rooms but ours was very small. The floor was all marble. It may make you feel good in summer but in winter time, it is a torture to walk on the floor after you take a shower. For your info, the heating system does not work before a specific time. Therefore, in spring or autumn, you may be in trouble if the weather is not warm enough. Nothing worked properly in the bathroom. Unfortunately, the backyard of the hotel is face to face with the backyard of an Irish pub. In this case, it is so natural to wake up 03.00 hrs in the morning with a yell of a drunk customer. I have experienced many 4 star hotels in Madrid, Seville etc. and I can tell you that this one was the worse. Hotel may be rated as 3,5 stars but never 4. It doesn't worth what you pay.

We arrived late and had a comfortable room but next to a lift shaft which kept us awake all night - then we had a plumbing nightmare the next night in a change of room in the great flood of 2012. Sounds bad but the hotel did their very best to try and sort things out and did really well! a very good hotel and despite the problems would recommend as they did everything they could in very difficult circumstances

The hotel has a very good location in the centre of Barcelona, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was kept clean and towels changed every day . The air con has just a switch on and off not a control device to adjust temperature. The TV remote control doesn't work properly it is actually not suitable for the TV set. The WiFi internet was missing all the time.

If you love ancient part of the city this hotel has perfect location. Just few steps to the Medieval streets and walking distance to La Rambla etc. Hotel is small -- about 50 rooms. Staff on reception is very friendly and welcoming. Frankly I've never seen any other staff but room has been cleaned daily. I have never had their breakfast because there are a lot of restaurants around. This was our first time in Barcelona and we spent most of the time outside so the room size and amenities was not a priority. However, rooms are so small that it was hard to pack two suitcases in a time. The sound insulation have a lot of potential for improvement. The hotel provides free WiFi in rooms, but you have to login every time and every device have to have a separate password. It is a bit annoying. Overall impression -- good location friendly environment but small and some disturbance from neighbors.

The location was great, in the midst of the Gothic neighborhood. There are hundreds of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The price was very good for the quality of the hotel. Rooms were very nice, though small, by American standards. But with 2 lifts (many hotels we have stayed in in Europe only have one lift), a helpful staff, breakfast served until 11am, the metro stop right across the street, and the Roman wall outside our window, this made for a great first-time visit to Barcelona!

Laietana is a major street thru Barcelona between Las Ramblas and the gothic part of town. Location was very good--it made the city walkable. Front desk staff was mostly helpful and their English was far better than my Spanish. Amenities were limited but included a computer in the lobby for which their was no charge. Breakfast was not included and should have been for the price. Hotel required a 25 Euro deposit for the key to the safe in the room...i thought that was odd. Room was very clean and nice except for some orange mildew on the shower curtain. Overall, i liked the place. I would suggest to others they shop around and try to find a hotel--similarly located--but where the breakfast is included.

Everything is very clean, rooms are small but they all are in Europe. The front desk guys are very helpful and we had a LOT of questions. It was pretty quiet which was good, the Cathedral was right outside our window. My only complaint would be the beds are hard like laying on plywood hard, but overall it was really clean, everything worked, and I would stay there again.

The hotel is located at a perfect location for those who like the old and new of Barcelona. Eurostar Laietana Palace is locate at the Roman Wall that use to surround old Barcelona and only blocks away from the harbor and La Ramba. Easy access to the metro line and tour bus routes. The hotel itself was clean. The room was small by American standards. The staff was helpful and polite and spoke good English. I would stay again should I have the opportunity.

If you are looking for best location to Metro and tourist sites, you can't beat this hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean. A great value.
